Today, I realized I willingly support my boyfriend's alcoholism, because the only time he says "I love you" is when he's blind drunk. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was texting my boyfriend about yesterday, where he told me how much he loved me, and he wishes we lived closer. I asked him if he really meant it. Turns out he was drunk, and had no idea what he was talking about. FML
Assman
Today, I love my boyfriend just as I always have, but I'm realizing I don't know if we'll last because he's an angry drunk. He drinks frequently, and I've talked to him about it, only to be met with, "I'm a grown ass man." FML
Driven to drink
Today, I caught my boyfriend trying to dispose of several empty alcohol bottles, leading to a discussion how dating me and putting up with my insanity has given him a drinking problem just so he can get through the day. Me catching him seemed to be the wake up call he needed, because he dumped me. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me grief about my drinking. This would be fine, if he were sober. FML
Boozehounds
Today, my fiancé refused to talk to me because I'm "an alcoholic". I only started drinking like this after we moved in together and he brought me alcohol every day, because he's an alcoholic. FML
Today, I realized that the only time my girlfriend ever calls me is when she's drunk. FML
Another addiction bites the dust
Today, I caught my boyfriend messaging flirty texts with one of the nurses who cared for him while he was in inpatient rehabilitation at the VA Medical Center for alcohol abuse. Not to mention he is back drinking daily. I suck at relationships. FML
Can he fix it?
Today, I found out that when my boyfriend is drunk he pretends to be Bob the Builder. FML
Today, I reached a new low in my relationship: my boyfriend got so drunk I had to help him take a piss. FML
I need one
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me because of my drunken antics. My reaction? Pour myself a stiff drink. FML

If the only time he loves you is when he's drunk, you need let him go and find someone who truly cares about you.

People are more likely to tell the truth when they're drunk.

Drunken words are sober thoughts ;)

If that's the only time he says it, he's not really your boyfriend.

I'm sorry op, but that means he doesn't actually love you. You deserve to have someone that actually loves you, and doesn't just say it (and he is just SAYING it not meaning it) when they are drunk. Leave him and get real love. Real love is worth it, and much better and healthier than whatever this jerk is giving you.

I'd say some counseling for him is a good idea maybe once a week for him and once a month with the two of you together.

That's rather stupid to enable him to drink!! That's not right, he could turn violent. No offence but it seems like he has to be drunk to say it, is that what you really want, like seriously?

So basically you're killing him just to make yourself feel better with love that isn't even real. Nice. Why don't you just remain 174287638638 miles away from me.
