Today, I jokingly asked my husband if he had ever cheated on me. In the most sincere and honest tone, he said "if I ever have or ever will, there's no way you would ever find out. I love you too much to lose you", and gave me a hug. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, as my boyfriend was trying to convince me that he was not having an affair with another woman named Julie, he looked me in the eye and exclaimed, "I would never cheat on you, I love you more than anything, Julie". FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend if she has ever had an affair. She replied, "Yes. With you". FML
Today, after I caught my husband cheating and lying, he had the nerve to claim it wasn't a big deal because, "I always come home to you!" FML
Today, my husband of 6 years said in a grave voice that he had some important news for me. Jokingly, I said, "Why, did you get that cute colleague of yours pregnant?" He did. FML
Final exam
Today, I caught my boyfriend cheating on his final exam. I confronted him after class by jokingly asking, "If you cheated on a test, would you cheat on me?" Turns out that yes, yes he would, and he did. FML
Today, my boyfriend wrote me a love letter saying about how much he cares for me, how he'd die for me and how he wants to spend his life with me. What really took my breath away was the confession at the end about how he "accidentally" cheated on me with my best friend. FML
Today, my husband jokingly said to me, "I think you love Captain Kirk more than me." Without thinking, I said in a serious tone, "I think I do, too." FML
Today, a very good friend of mine said he had a question to ask me. Jokingly, I threw my arms around his neck and said, "Oh yes, yes, a thousand times yes!" When I sat back down, I saw tears in his eyes, and he said, "You've made me the happiest man alive" as he pulled a small box out of his coat. FML
Today, I actually said the words "yes, a blowjob from a guy is still cheating" to my husband. I never thought that would be a problem. FML
What?
Today, I confronted my boyfriend, suspecting that he has been cheating on me during the past few months. He vehemently denied it. Then told me it would never happen again. What? FML

Oh, I don't even know where to begin with that one. That sounds like a back-handed admission to me.

You "jokingly" asked him the question, perhaps he jokingly answered it.

I'll never understand how some people could claim to love their partner and still cheat on them O_O

Because it's hardwired in most peoples brains,no matter how attractive or unattractive they or their partner are, they always want the hottest partner they can get,it's like they're born that way.So sometimes being in a relationship with someone they truly love isn't enough. They want more,him/her wants to have their cake and eat it too.The truth hurts, but it hurts even more if it was done intentionally.

Not quite hardwired into "people's" brains, it's hardwired into the brains of men as an instinctive reproductive strategy. "Sperm is cheap" is the logic behind this. A woman's instinct is to find a partner who will stay and help ensure the survival of his kid. The male instinct is to screw as much as possible. While a woman can only (naturally) have one wombful of offspring developing at one time, a man can potentially have many because he doesn't have to wait until the first child is born before having another. That's not to say there are people who are exceptions to this, there are many faithful men and many promiscuous women. It's just that research suggests that men are more hurt by their partners simply having sex with someone else (carrying a kid that's not his) while women are more hurt if their partner falls in love with someone else (leaving her to raise her kid alone). Ultimately, sex is driven by the desire to have healthy offspring to pass on our genes. Healthy people are attractive because they (usually) make healthy kids. Love serves to help ensure that they are properly raised. Both combined create more healthy (and thus attractive) people.

Why even ask the question of you might not like the answer??
klutzycleo 5
So, basically, you'd rather be with a cheating partner and not know, right? Wise of you, indeed...

then why go to the Dr to get checked for cancer? GREAT LOGIC

your comparison is elementary at best 104. in the partner's case it would be the partner's fault for cheating AND could also be offended by the question. in the case of the dr he/she would not be offended by the inquiry and would be more than happy to answer the question. IMO some things are better left not asked in a joking manner if the questioner does not want a joking answer

I do not condone cheating in any way but if I know my partner loves me but they made a mistake because of hormones ONE time I would rather not know about it so that it doesn't strain a good relationship. If the cheating comes from something less hormonally driven and more because he fell out of love I would want to know so that it could be fixed. If it is a recurring thing I would rather known so that I can end it.
