Complete mockery

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I've noticed a pattern with my classmates: Every time a new student shows up, they are treated by my classmates as though they've known each other for years. Everyone except me. When I first came along, I was more or less a wallflower. No one wanted anything to do with me. The same is true today. FML
Today, I was sitting in class when I overheard a group talking about how much they don't like me. When they saw me there, they burst out laughing. FML
Today, I have MS, and while I was in a grocery store a couple followed me through the store, making fun of my disability and the way I walked. FML
Today, a creep called me out in the street and asked me why I was in that part of that street, because he "knows " I live in another part of the street, and he found it "odd" that I was there. He was smiling all that time too. FML
Today, I found out that our neighbors told almost everyone on our street that I was mentally handicapped. All this time I wasn't sure why they would speak slowly and loudly at me. Now they won't believe me when I tell them I'm a 4.0 GPA student. FML
Today, the girls from my high school still think they are too cool to associate with me. They ignored/avoided me in high school, assuming I was too weird. We could have 96+ mutual followers from our class and I still only get accepted without a follow back. What have they heard about me? FML
Today, I, a person who has graduated high school, encountered one of my high school teachers in public. The one known for her rampant ableism against me and tendency to get heated when people don't respond immediately to her when she talks. I've had horrible social anxiety for several years. Do the math. FML
Today, I recently moved to a new place. People around me here have been ignoring me from day one. It feels awkward and embarrassing to not get response when i talk to them. I'm an extrovert but still I can't cope up with this behavior. It's like they are observing my moves, and it's kind of creepy too. FML
Today, people in my class reunion bullied me because of a skin condition I have called xeroderma pigmentosum. It makes it so that I get sunburned really easily, and they did it just like they did back in middle school. I hated my life then but when I heard them say it again, I just started crying. FML
Today, and every day I go out in public, I apparently have a sign on my back saying, “If you’re a creepy old man, please harass and stare at me.” The best part? No one my own age has ever spared me even a second look. FML

I know the feeling 😤. The problem is not one’s disability, but how people respond to it

Being from the great apes family, most of the people just are tuned to respond back. So break this cycle of response and smile when they see towards you. You would find most of them smiling back. Next, say hi. This usually breaks the barrier and starts the positive cycle

Unfortunately, that is the reality.

Do not let their ignorance and rude behavior define you and how you see yourself! You are amazing OP, and it’s a shame those people can’t see it (it’s their loss tho)

Do not bullshit yourself or anyone else. You know what happens when you play nice to people like this? They are nice to your face and trash you behind your back. If a disability causes anyone to act differently towards you, they are not worth the time or effort to be nice. Find people who are not going to be jerks.

they are the disable one

eh? it's not a bad thing to be disabled, you're the reason people like OP are insecure and think everything's about their disability because people like you use it as a derogatory term! I'm disabled and proud
EmDizzle2007 28
what's the disability??

Lack of compassion and understanding

I realize you're saying that's the disability of their classmates, but I'm genuinely interested in what op's is.

I've been where you are and I've realised people do treat me differently when i tell them I'm disabled but that's society for you, we've been brainwashed to feel that depending on the colour of your skin, disability and sexual orientation you will get catergorised and stereotyped

Honestly (and you may get in trouble, but it will be good for your pride) you tell them because all of you are ******* assholes and can go **** yourselves.
