Today, I had to get my hair chopped off for a role that I'm playing in a show. I was staring at the floor while the woman cut my hair, and I suddenly heard her start crying. Her tears were immediately followed by "It's okay! I have a friend in New York who can fix it. We won't charge you." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I let my friend cut my hair and after a few minutes, she looked at what she had done and then she ran out of the room, laughing. FML
Today, I let a friend cut my hair. I soon went from having a 'fro to looking like I lost a fight with a lawn mower. FML
I WISH!
Today, I let my friend bleach my hair, which resulted in it falling out in clumps. I spent $150 at the beauty salon fixing it and cutting most of it off. I sent the pictures of my new hair to my friends, and I got the same reply from each and every one of them: "That better be a wig." FML
Today, I went to a salon. As soon as I walked in, someone ran to me and inspected my hair and said, "We can fix this." I was there to get my daughter's hair done. FML
Bad choice
Today, I went to a different hairdresser than usual to get 5 inches off my hair and bangs. He ended up charging me half price, saying, "Don't worry, we all make mistakes." FML
Today, a woman came into my life and took all I had left in the world. The woman was my hair stylist. She took my hair and the last of my money. FML
Hatchet job
Today, I got my hair trimmed to look fresh for my sister's wedding this week. The woman messed up so badly that the manager had to step in and fix it. I lost 8 inches of hair and my dad keeps telling me I look like a medieval stable boy. FML
Today, after months of her begging me, I let my girlfriend cut my hair for the first time. It turned out so badly that we are now "taking a break until it looks normal again." FML
Social cues
Today, I got my hair cut. When I was leaving, my stylist was standing fairly close while we were talking. She reached out to smooth out my hair; I went in for a hug. She didn't want a hug. Everyone who was there just stared at me until I left the building. FML
Today, I went to get a haircut. I have a pretty bad case of dandruff, so whenever I get one, a lot of it shows. My hairstylist called to her nearby friend twice, then looked at my hair and said, "Blech" under her breath. I got glares when I walked out. FML

Hmmm every play I've been in we've used these things called wigs. Come in pretty handy.

There's this thing called money... some schools and theatre companies don't have enough to afford wigs.

Wigs are too expensive (they are indeed) compared to haircuts. Poor you.

Bad haircuts are a gift from satan. I feel for you. And I agree with #24 with the wig thing. My theater group can't afford wigs for everyone, either.

Oh man, that suuuucks! I had some horrible hair-cutting incidents about 4-ish years ago. I went to a really expensive top-of-the-line salon to get it evened out (they did a really good job, but it was really expensive) and I've let it grow out. I trim it myself now. If you can't trust a professional to cut your hair, then who can you trust to do it? Hopefully for you it was workable and they could do something with it. Hopefully she didn't accidentally shave a bald spot into the back of your head because that would really suck!

Yea. So over the summer I got my haircut at a reputable chain of sorts. Aveda is really expensive. Well. The haircut wasn't that great but it was cut and I was able to continue my job search not looking like a homeless lady. SO it comes time for me to start finding someone for my girlfriends wedding and I decide to try this other place my cousin has gone to. So I set up my appointment for the wedding and then set up a haircut with the same stylist a few weeks before. So she's great, cutting my hair and all of a sudden goes "do you know there's a huge chunk missing down here?" I didn't because it was in the back. I at that point laughed it off and said well that explains so much! I've been going to her ever since. In regards to a show - I completely understand from doing musicals in particular you can't dance, sing and make sure your wig is still on straight at the same time. Depending upon the style just sucking it up and getting your haircut is the best option.
