Today, I'd had it with my mom's addiction to weed, so I told her to choose between me or the weed. I'm currently looking on Craigslist for an apartment. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom told me she's a drug addict, sold my bed to buy meth, and then lectured me about how I should be okay with it. FML
Today, my mom found my weed stash and went berserk, grounding me and saying she's going to have my bedroom door removed. Less than an hour later, I found her laughing and smoking the same stash with my dad in the backyard. FML
Overreacting much?
Today, I came from a 12-hour shift to find my clothes and stuff outside, and the locks changed. I called my mom to let me in and she told me, “Hell the fuck no, I’m not having a drug addicted junkie up in my house! You’re no longer my daughter!” and hung up. Apparently, she found my stash of weed. FML
Today, my crazy drug-addict mother kicked me out of the house after siding with my crazy, drug-addict aunt, who'd just threatened to slit my throat. FML
Today, my mom called me a druggie after she found out I smoked weed once. She's now threatening to sell my car, tell my boss, and ban me from seeing my fiancée. I'm 24. FML
Don't go
Today, my mother told me she thinks it is time for me to move into my own place. I agreed with her and went to look at studios/flats online. She later came into my room, saw me looking at places and then got pissed off at me, saying that I hate her for wanting to leave her. FML
Smoke 'em if you've got 'em
Today, my mom told me she was getting tired of the smell of marijuana in the house. So I confessed and told her I'll never bring it home again. She was talking about my neighbors. FML
Today, I found out my roomie has lost her only source of income. This means I'm responsible for all the bills and the rent. I would kick her out and get someone else, but she's my mother. FML
Why mother, why?
Today, my mother yet again chose to put my brother's junkie of an ex-girlfriend's needs and happiness above mine, despite the fact that she's stolen thousands of dollars and anything else of value from my mom's house. FML
Drugs are bad
Today, my pill-popping mom, committing disability fraud and stealing from me, called the cops on me, and dragged the landlord into it, is now getting both of us evicted. All this because she'd rather live homeless with her drug problem than to get the help she needs, which I can't provide anymore after 10 years. FML

Yes, like letting her adult children live at home rent-free while they hassle her about her fun habits.

While it is true that you aren't addicted to the actual chemical THC in marijuana, you can become "addicted" to the effects it creates. Here's a really crappy example: you don't become addicted to being held at gunpoint by muggers, but you can get addicted to the adrenaline rush, so to get your fix, you'll walk around seedy parts of town with money hanging out your ass to get that rush again.

You're all idiots. Your mom is fine on weed. You just need to grow the **** up and pull that stick out of your ass.

people saying weed isn't addictive; it is. It's just a mental addiction compared to other drugs which usually leads to both mental and physical addiction.

Rule #344: Don't challenge the authority of the one who pays the bills and provides you shelter. Also, who gives a shit if your mom smokes weed? |the kid|

You should call the police on her. A few days in jail/prison will set her right.

I'm curious if op's mom smokes weed, yet pays the bills for the house, utilities, etc. If op is 18+ and doesn't like her smoking weed because he's got a problem against it, then he can kindly stfu or move out.

Weed is neither a drug nor an addiction, furthermore if you're old enough to live by yourself you shouldn't still be at home anyway.

No, no. Weed is a drug and can be habit-forming. But I'm also saying that it piques my curiosities both academic and personal.

I'm sorry. I understand that completely I made my ex-bf choose when he was my bf at the time. He actually is doing a lot better now that he doesn't do it anymore. He now has his own house, 2 jobs, bought his mom anew house. It's sad how much control something like that has on people. Hopefully your mom will get over that too.

Everybody is flipping out saying she "chose pot over her own child" but nobody's considered that maby OP is 25 and still living at home maby this is just the straw that broke the camels back

YDI for bitching about weed. You should take a hit and you wouldn't worry so damn much.
