Today, I'd had it with my mom's addiction to weed, so I told her to choose between me or the weed. I'm currently looking on Craigslist for an apartment. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom told me she's a drug addict, sold my bed to buy meth, and then lectured me about how I should be okay with it. FML
Today, my mom found my weed stash and went berserk, grounding me and saying she's going to have my bedroom door removed. Less than an hour later, I found her laughing and smoking the same stash with my dad in the backyard. FML
Overreacting much?
Today, I came from a 12-hour shift to find my clothes and stuff outside, and the locks changed. I called my mom to let me in and she told me, “Hell the fuck no, I’m not having a drug addicted junkie up in my house! You’re no longer my daughter!” and hung up. Apparently, she found my stash of weed. FML
Today, my crazy drug-addict mother kicked me out of the house after siding with my crazy, drug-addict aunt, who'd just threatened to slit my throat. FML
Today, my mom called me a druggie after she found out I smoked weed once. She's now threatening to sell my car, tell my boss, and ban me from seeing my fiancée. I'm 24. FML
Don't go
Today, my mother told me she thinks it is time for me to move into my own place. I agreed with her and went to look at studios/flats online. She later came into my room, saw me looking at places and then got pissed off at me, saying that I hate her for wanting to leave her. FML
Smoke 'em if you've got 'em
Today, my mom told me she was getting tired of the smell of marijuana in the house. So I confessed and told her I'll never bring it home again. She was talking about my neighbors. FML
Today, I found out my roomie has lost her only source of income. This means I'm responsible for all the bills and the rent. I would kick her out and get someone else, but she's my mother. FML
Why mother, why?
Today, my mother yet again chose to put my brother's junkie of an ex-girlfriend's needs and happiness above mine, despite the fact that she's stolen thousands of dollars and anything else of value from my mom's house. FML
Drugs are bad
Today, my pill-popping mom, committing disability fraud and stealing from me, called the cops on me, and dragged the landlord into it, is now getting both of us evicted. All this because she'd rather live homeless with her drug problem than to get the help she needs, which I can't provide anymore after 10 years. FML

Yes, like letting her adult children live at home rent-free while they hassle her about her fun habits.

While it is true that you aren't addicted to the actual chemical THC in marijuana, you can become "addicted" to the effects it creates. Here's a really crappy example: you don't become addicted to being held at gunpoint by muggers, but you can get addicted to the adrenaline rush, so to get your fix, you'll walk around seedy parts of town with money hanging out your ass to get that rush again.

weed isn't even addictive and its a medicine its been proven the THC kills Leukemia cells. juuust saying
THE_A_TEEN 28
So you are willing to give THC to kids who have leukemia?

108 - but you would rather give a kid prescription medicine which has chances of side effects that cause even more problems? And which kill people 1000s of people a year on people who od?

If it'll save them, why the **** not? Because chemo is so much safer?

Nobody's ever OD on THC and yes before everybody calls me a stupid child I can cite sources for that If this is true (altho I haven't seen a report confirming it) then that would make weed a far far safer alternative to chemo which by definition is a poison and carcinogen

Thank you 198, that's probably one of the only knowledgable comments I've seen. Studies show marijuana is safer than peanuts; because people die from choking on or allergies to peanuts. Peanuts are shown to kill an average of 100 people a year, while marijuana has killed none. Seems ok to me.

She likes to relax, so what. Maybe you should try so you can chill out.

You know, I don't really care about weed, but when I see stoners making complete idiots of themselves I think "gee, and you wonder why people don't want it legalized?" maybe it doesn't kill brain cells, but you could have fooled me.

Nobody has made a fool of themselves, you are just a lazy dumbass who hasn't read through any other comments other than the first 3 or 4 haha. Weed is not illegal still cause stoners are dumb! Hell alcohol is legal and majority who drink are complete dip *****! Judging people and not having their facts straights makes it look like they should make being as dumb as you illegal! Hahaha

#136 -- Hey, hey, hold your horses. Stop this boat, because I don't like where it's going. Don't lump everyone into one category. There are casual drinkers, just as there are casual smokers. And I'm an occasional drinker. Also, it is of note that there are quite a few people who might be substance abuse addicts and are considered "geniuses" by popular opinion (though "popular opinion" should be taken with a grain of salt). In any case, I'm going to sit here with this wooden, perfunctory smile and gaze off into the sunlight, hoping for the day when people stop suffering from collective fucktardation. I'll be here for a while. |the kid|

136 - when did this turn into a war of marijuana vs alcohol? I enjoy all of my trips in moderation.

Well who would want to live with a biatch like that anyway Although it sucks you should be glad it worked out that way

So as everyone else has said, you CAN get addicted to anything! Especially people with highly addictive personalities. But, in this case, maybe she wasn't addicted. Maybe she was just annoyed that her "child" (who is old enough to live in an apartment on their own!) is always nagging her about her smoking habits and bringing down her highs. And about the whole "weed should be legalized" deal. I'd rather it be illegal than it be legal and regulated by the government since they would be adding all kinds of chemicals to it and ruining the pure amazingness of God's smoke-able love.
