Thanks honey
Today, I was feeling really down, so I texted my boyfriend and asked him to tell me why he loves me, thinking he would cheer me up. His response? "Don't bug me with this stupid shit anymore. You always ask such dumb questions." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I told my boyfriend I loved him. His response? "Is that why you have been so clingy and annoying lately?" FML
Today, my boyfriend called and asked me why I love him. I told him because he's always there for me and continues to put up with my bipolar disorder. He promptly said "not anymore" and hung up. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend that I love him. He replied by telling me to fuck off. FML
Today, I was texting my boyfriend when he said, "Hold up." Thinking it'd be funny, I ran and grabbed my copy of the movie Up, and took a picture of me holding it and sent it to him. He replied, "Getting real tired of your shit." Then dumped me for my "dumb taste in humor." FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were in bed and I asked him why he was with me. His answer was, "Well, the last girl I dated was really smart and she always made me feel dumb, so I decided to switch things up a bit. You make me feel like a genius, babe." FML
Today, after a hard day's work and emotional argument with my best friend, I sent my boyfriend a text telling him how much I loved him and cherished him in the hopes he would cheer me up with a romantic reply. He said "Sorry, I've only got 8 texts left." FML
Today, the guy I like took 15 hours to respond to my text. When I asked him why he took so long to respond, he said, “Chill, I’m not your boyfriend or anything, why are you asking me questions like that?” FML
Today, I got in a fight with my boyfriend. I sent him a long message pouring my heart out about how hurt I am that he constantly ignores me or responds to almost everything I say in monosyllables. He texted back "ok". FML
Today, my boyfriend came over and dropped off my phone, which I'd left at his place the night before. He immediately left in a sulk. As I looked through my texts, I discovered he was only so moody because I hadn't answered any of his calls or messages. I'm dating an idiot. FML
Today, I sent my boyfriend a long and heartfelt message. He responded with "tl; dr". FML

You picked the wrong boyfriend. Though, if you just texted and said "Why do you love me?" without any explanation, that would piss anyone off.

It has all already been said, but you should grow up and learn to actually communicate. Asking a dumbass question like that is fishing for compliments and is sad. YDI

Omg #122 hit the nail on the head. My ex-girlfriend always asked me those random questions DAILY, I was good about it in the beginning then in the middle of our relationship I told her to stop, then after 1 f-ing year I finally broke up with her. It was amazing how much happier I was after she was gone,it was amazing at how much more money I had also :) now she keeps wanting to be friends and I thought that I could be her friend while I was with her, then after we broke up every time I hear her voice or even when I may think of her a chill travels through my spine and I need to redirect my thinking. So the point of this is, girls maybe once in a while is cool but we can only handle so much till our head explodes

That attention seeking gets old after awhile. Really, it does. A text out of the blue with a comment like that is even worse. I hope you learned from it. It's not really a YDI because it may have just been an honest mistake...but not really FYL either because you did deserve his response.

#124 and #135 well said. this is a definite YDI. how's a guy supposed to respond without thinking you're either ridiculously needy or as insane as a ******* hawk-chicken holding fire in its talons? no guy wants to see that. i actually asked some of my friends about this, and we all agreed: saying something like that doesn't say "i'm feeling down and need cheering up", it's saying "i don't believe anything you say about your feelings and i want you to prove them to me every second or i'll go into a murderous rage". just saying.

YDI it for being needy, clingy and an attention *****. I'm a girl, so I don't want any overly emotional clingy females (that this site seems to have a TON of) telling me I'm being sexist, because I'm not. I don't ask guys things like that. I also would get REALLY annoyed if a guy ever asked me that. It's just annoying. And it's emotionally draining on the person you're constantly bugging to fill a void that your lack of self esteem has left. No one has perfect self esteem, but some of us fake it better than others. Learn to fake it.

that is all your fault there. you're dating the douchenozzle. i bet he hits you and you think it's because he cares about you. you're an idiot and deserve that response. quit being like every other girl and go after someone who would actually take care of you and not just use you to get some. oh and by the way, he's probably cheating on you. but again, it's because he cares.

Its understandable that he got angry at you. Those kinds of texts piss the hell out of me. Especially when you tell her over and over again that you love her, then the next day she asks you the same question. YDI

he probably just thought you were being needy.
