Thanks honey
Today, I was feeling really down, so I texted my boyfriend and asked him to tell me why he loves me, thinking he would cheer me up. His response? "Don't bug me with this stupid shit anymore. You always ask such dumb questions." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I told my boyfriend I loved him. His response? "Is that why you have been so clingy and annoying lately?" FML
Today, my boyfriend called and asked me why I love him. I told him because he's always there for me and continues to put up with my bipolar disorder. He promptly said "not anymore" and hung up. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend that I love him. He replied by telling me to fuck off. FML
Today, I was texting my boyfriend when he said, "Hold up." Thinking it'd be funny, I ran and grabbed my copy of the movie Up, and took a picture of me holding it and sent it to him. He replied, "Getting real tired of your shit." Then dumped me for my "dumb taste in humor." FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were in bed and I asked him why he was with me. His answer was, "Well, the last girl I dated was really smart and she always made me feel dumb, so I decided to switch things up a bit. You make me feel like a genius, babe." FML
Today, after a hard day's work and emotional argument with my best friend, I sent my boyfriend a text telling him how much I loved him and cherished him in the hopes he would cheer me up with a romantic reply. He said "Sorry, I've only got 8 texts left." FML
Today, the guy I like took 15 hours to respond to my text. When I asked him why he took so long to respond, he said, “Chill, I’m not your boyfriend or anything, why are you asking me questions like that?” FML
Today, I got in a fight with my boyfriend. I sent him a long message pouring my heart out about how hurt I am that he constantly ignores me or responds to almost everything I say in monosyllables. He texted back "ok". FML
Today, my boyfriend came over and dropped off my phone, which I'd left at his place the night before. He immediately left in a sulk. As I looked through my texts, I discovered he was only so moody because I hadn't answered any of his calls or messages. I'm dating an idiot. FML
Today, I sent my boyfriend a long and heartfelt message. He responded with "tl; dr". FML

You picked the wrong boyfriend. Though, if you just texted and said "Why do you love me?" without any explanation, that would piss anyone off.

Well have you ever thought of the scenario that the guy reacted so negatively because he was having a bad day as well and he finally snapped after getting asked that same question over and over again? I mean honestly some girls depend too much on their BF's compliments to feel good about themselves and as a guy I can honestly say it can get pretty agitating, Specially when its random and while youre doing something else with your friends.

I don't think it's your fault that you wanted a few kind words when you were feeling down, but I don't think your boyfriend was wrong to say what he did, especially because it sounds like you ask that a lot. My boyfriend either gets annoyed or just doesn't answer me when I ask him shit like that, and it's not because he's an ass or doesn't love me at all. It's because guys (1) just don't waste their time with girls they aren't interested in, so they don't feel like they need to explain why they're with you, and (2) if they have the type of personality my guy does, they simply don't like stupid questions. "Why don't you want to get married and have kids someday?" is a legit question for a significant other. "Why do you love me?" sounds--yes, I'm going to say it--like you're fishing for compliments, even borderline self-hating. And also, who's to say all of these people who side with the OP haven't misinterpreted the guy's response? "Don't bug me with this stupid shit" doesn't really sound mean. Guys cuss all the time and don't always mean it in a rude way. I mean, if you people can find the perfect guy who's never misspoken or gotten upset, well...you must have been asleep, cuz that shit doesn't happen in real life.

This is a horrible question that often heads towards disaster when it's not answers just right. I have a friend whose girlfriend pulls this question up often over texting... It's so annying because it just results in them texting back and forth in an argument about said questions response. The least you can do is ask in person. If you want someone to say how great you are, how about actually DOING something. Asking that question only highlights you insecurities in the relationship and that you want compliments; in other words, your bad side. It can be hard thing up why someone is great when they ask something like this. It sounds like you do it often. YDI...

"Is everything ok?" would have been a more appropriate and less douchey response. Clearly the guy has no intuition, dump him.

Stop this guys, you're going to make her cry and then annoy her boyfriend again with her neediness, IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? I'm a girl and even I wouldn't be able to tolerate that shit

"Instead you just jumped on the bandwagon of calling her annoying and needy without thinking of other possible scenarios." ^ This person speaks truth. Why does everyone create such harsh judgments based on one or two lines provided in the FML? True, she may have not gone about it the right way, but 90% of the comments here are totally neglecting the guy's response. Whether he was annoyed or not, I would hate it (and I'm sure other girls would, too) if I was spoken to like that, especially if I was having a bad day. I think he should've simply told her, "You know why I love you, but I think we need to talk about this later, when we meet," or something along those lines. Having an honest conversation can be far more productive than lashing out. In fact, it'll be good for the two of you. You can tell him why you ask that question, and he'll tell you how much he dislikes it. Work something out. That's what couples do. :|

The fact that he said "anymore" means that you should know better by now.

I can't stand that, either. You might as well come right out and say "hey, I don't believe anything you tell me." It gets to the point a lot quicker.
