Thanks honey
Today, I was feeling really down, so I texted my boyfriend and asked him to tell me why he loves me, thinking he would cheer me up. His response? "Don't bug me with this stupid shit anymore. You always ask such dumb questions." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I told my boyfriend I loved him. His response? "Is that why you have been so clingy and annoying lately?" FML
Today, my boyfriend called and asked me why I love him. I told him because he's always there for me and continues to put up with my bipolar disorder. He promptly said "not anymore" and hung up. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend that I love him. He replied by telling me to fuck off. FML
Today, I was texting my boyfriend when he said, "Hold up." Thinking it'd be funny, I ran and grabbed my copy of the movie Up, and took a picture of me holding it and sent it to him. He replied, "Getting real tired of your shit." Then dumped me for my "dumb taste in humor." FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were in bed and I asked him why he was with me. His answer was, "Well, the last girl I dated was really smart and she always made me feel dumb, so I decided to switch things up a bit. You make me feel like a genius, babe." FML
Today, after a hard day's work and emotional argument with my best friend, I sent my boyfriend a text telling him how much I loved him and cherished him in the hopes he would cheer me up with a romantic reply. He said "Sorry, I've only got 8 texts left." FML
Today, the guy I like took 15 hours to respond to my text. When I asked him why he took so long to respond, he said, “Chill, I’m not your boyfriend or anything, why are you asking me questions like that?” FML
Today, I got in a fight with my boyfriend. I sent him a long message pouring my heart out about how hurt I am that he constantly ignores me or responds to almost everything I say in monosyllables. He texted back "ok". FML
Today, my boyfriend came over and dropped off my phone, which I'd left at his place the night before. He immediately left in a sulk. As I looked through my texts, I discovered he was only so moody because I hadn't answered any of his calls or messages. I'm dating an idiot. FML
Today, I sent my boyfriend a long and heartfelt message. He responded with "tl; dr". FML

You picked the wrong boyfriend. Though, if you just texted and said "Why do you love me?" without any explanation, that would piss anyone off.

Sounds like a lot of you think she's dumb. I agree, this might have been annoying for her boyfriend, but how hard is it to say "why I love you" just to cheer your girlfriend up? I mean, if she was asking for this everyday, then I agree, it would be be considered stupid, but she was having a bad day! He could have just said it, and not have been bothered, and he might have got some in the process....

I'm a girl, but I'm kinda with the guy on this one. We girls are so needy sometimes.

Well, my responce would be: "F you!! I guess now you're not getting that sports car!" -hang up.- Someone elses responce would be: "I'm breaking up with you." What was yours? ._. Did you do nothing? Anyways, break up with him. And tell him about the fake sports car. ;D

From the way your boyfriend worded this, it doesn't sound like this is the first time it's happening. If it is, maybe he's having a bad day. Being that it is over a text, people make mistakes. The problem is it's hard to correct them on a text, well... harder anyway than the phone/in person/ even MSN. Either way, as a guy that's gone through this same situtation a number of times before with my current girlfriend and first true love, it's frustrating as hell to have to do, especially over a text, but I understand the right answer does mean a lot to her, and a bad one, (his response), would leave her pissed as hell. I'm fine occasionally having to answer it, because I know how I feel about her, and although I'm still working on fully understanding what love is, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that I am feeling it at this very moment. Seems like an open ended research project anyway, and quite frankly it's more fun not understanding at times. But I also do know that she wouldn't ask this unless she feels down, because she knows I love her. Realisitically speaking, it takes less than 90 seconds to sum up a few things, (I'd suggest mentioning her smile, the way she makes you feel when you cuddle, etc), and she's content. We should be so lucky to be able to cheer up the ones we care about so easily, because even something like this, as trivial as it may seem, does make a big difference. At the same time OP, don't make it a consistent habit asking it. Every once in a while if you're upset it's fine, but doing it repeatedly is going to make your partner question the relationship as a whole.

That was pretty harsh but look at it from his view. He said you ALWAYS ask me this...... its pretty obvious this isn't an every so often thing and I'm just like you, always need to hear it but I've lost two gf's over it. Really, its annoying as f*ck!

#152, except... if you give a "wrong" answer, she'll be even worse off. I'd venture to guess that many boys hate it because it also feels like a needless mind game. And from the context of the OP, she seemingly is asking it every day and didn't let him know it was because she was upset.

I agree with #158. I'm a girl, but I won't bother anyone I'm dating with that question. It bugs the shit out of me when guys ask ME that on a constant basis. Just try and remember his answer from the first time you asked him why he loves you, and that'll be good enough.
