Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I learned that my daughter pocketed the money I'd paid so she could go to college. FML
Today, my daughter's idea of a prank was taking all of our money and getting herself arrested. FML
Today, my brat daughter got pissed that I didn't spend "enough" money on her Sweet Sixteen party. She threw a tantrum and told my husband about my affair. FML
Today, I slipped money into my mother's purse after she refused to let me pay for lunch. She caught me in the act and thought I was stealing money from her instead. FML
Today, I enjoyed a lovely family dinner, but my irritating grandma kept trying to buy my purse off me, and kept picking it up to look at it. When I got home I realized all my cash and cigarettes were gone. FML
Today, I found out my mother-in-law sold a precious family heirloom and gambled away the money. FML
Today, I caught my husband's crazy aunt attempting to steal from my daughter's piggy bank. When I confronted her, she tried to defend herself by saying, "She's 2 months-old, she doesn't need the money!" FML
Today, I confiscated my daughter’s tablet, phone and laptop after I caught her exchanging nudes with boys. My ex then called me in a rage, threatening to take me to court over “stealing his belongings” since he purchased them. No concern for our daughter’s behavior, just him wanting the stuff. FML
Today, I was talking to my mom about my issues with my girlfriend. While she was sympathizing, she slowly picked up my wallet, took $100 and left. FML
Today, my mother asked me if she could borrow $200. Being the lovely daughter I am, I gave her my bank card to withdraw it herself. She gambled it away and maxed my bank account out. I had $1500 saved. FML

15 - I'm going out on a limb here and assuming you're from the US when I say this, but... Do you not watch the news?!

I hope you punished her OP. If my 13 year old son did that, I would have donated his presents to Toys for Tots
slickchrome 11
is she friends with the trash can pyro?

What would she need that for?

Good job raising her. YDI

Yes because people don't have minds of their own or free will. Every bad thing anyone had ever done is because of their parents. I suppose yours were responsible for your quick to judge comment.
Mommy_of_one 2
You can be the greatest parent in the world and have a kid grow up to be a criminal. OP doesn't deserve it at all
msstark 2
Well, they were fighting over money in front of their kid. Not the greatest parents in my humble opinion.
Dthsapprntc 23
It doesn't say they were fighting in front of the kid. And since the girl managed to steal $250 out of OP's purse I think it is fairly safe to asume that they thought the daughter was elsewhere, like hiding in her room like most 13 year olds do when at home.
Mommy_of_one 2
How do you know they were fighting while she was present? My 13 year old stays in his room 95% of the time.

#47 grow up to be a criminal perhaps. But a 13 yr old stealing $250 from mums wallet is not a sign of great parents. OP - and you judging by your comment - should start taking responsibility

My parents had a very emotionally volatile last few years of marriage and a heated divorce and I heard everything, even though I was usually always in my room. For this reason I'm going to make a huge effort to avoid getting into a heated argument with my future husband if the children are at home, regardless of whether I think they're in their room or asleep or whatever. OP and her husband might not have been that loud, but if they were loud enough for their daughter to hear (and then take advantage of the situation by stealing money), then that's not right, regardless of where the daughter was in the house. IMO.

This is where you beat her ass.

got that right!!

That's exactly what I thought

Take her phone
Mauskau 36
I was gonna say why would a 13 year old need a phone, and then I remembered the main problem is why does a 13 year old need $250.
parism143 28
I've had a phone since I was 11, but it was a cheap flip phone from Fido so I could use it for emergencies, not an iPhone 5s so I could play Candy Crush. Granted those didn't exist back then, but judging from the actions of this brat of a little girl I'm assuming that would be her first phone.
cryssycakesx3 23
my kid will start out with a flipphone like I had to.
kmccain 27
@97 I wouldn't plan on there being many flip phones around when your kids are old enough. There seems to be less and less sold in stores.

Save one from now

She's practicing for life on the streets. Hopefully you get your money problems sorted out before then, OP.
siggy_mcsigx 22
Maybe she thinks getting rid of the problem will stop the arguing.
