Predictions

Today, I spent hours arguing with my mother, who claimed I shouldn't make a three-hour drive because I wouldn't be able to concentrate for that long. I argued that I was a perfectly capable driver, and left. In the last two minutes of the journey, I hit a van, and messed up the front of my car. FML

I know that a lot of people are gonna put YDI, but that's just unlucky. FYL

Your mum was right, too. Being a capable driver is a completely different thing than having infinite supplies of concentration. Drive for an extended period of time, and you /will/ lose your focus. This is why you should take a break every now and then.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo closeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Did you pull over and take a break halfway in? If not, YDI.

Why would you not be able to concentrate for 3 hours?

That's a very long time to argue over something so stupid. Sucks that your car is messed up though.

Be more careful next time. I drive 8 hours, non-stop, no breaks. Just make sure you bring gum, food, soda, and CONCENTRATE.

in australia we have ads on tv telling people to stop every two hours for fifteen minutes. it's called "stop, revive, survive" and they also have free rest stops sometimes, with hot drinks and stuff.

There are also signs along the road that say stuff like, "DROWSY DRIVERS DIE". I love those things :D
