I like how everyone assumes OP is all sweet and innocent and the gf is a bitch. What if she just got home from a long day from work and was exhausted? If he were being boring and long-winded and whining about his feelings, and she was legitimately tired, I could see how she'd fall asleep. There are good times to talk about your feelings, and there aren't. Doubt if OP knows the difference.

Leave a note, saying you tried to break up with her before but she fell asleep on you. If she was a royal pain, then just leave everything that she gave you that is sentimental/nostalgic on the table neatly arranged with the note.
