Framed
Today, my brother showed my wife a Craigslist ad by someone seeking casual sex. It had very specific details that made it seem like I wrote it. My brother later admitted in private that he made the post as revenge for me not loaning him $500 last month. Meanwhile, my wife still thinks I'm unfaithful. FML

So your brother's response to not getting money was to try and ruin your marriage? I'd keep him at arms length from now on. And honestly, 500 isn't "i'm going to lose my house" money. I'm curious what was so important that he needed the money for.

Wow not cool. That's taking it to far. Time to plan for some revenge Op.

Your brother needs to grow up!

Ok, your brother is a jerk and needs to be put in his place. However, I don't want to be mean, but your wife is being kind of ridiculous too. 1)your brother SHOWED her this ad. How much time does your brother spend on Craigslist, that she doesn't question this really obscure ad that he just happened to find which sounds like you? Does your brother spend a lot of time looking at other men seeking casual sex on Craigslist. 2)To jump to conclusions based on something written that just SOUNDS like your husband, is a gross overreaction. A lot of things sound like other people on the internet, doesn't mean it is them. And 3) does your wife know he wanted money? If she did, it'd be more reasonable to assume he was just being a vindictive ass, not that you were cheating. Relationships are about trust, if 1 written ad on Craigslist that kind of sounds like you, is all your wife needs to think you're unfaithful, there isn't a lot of trust there. In any case, your brother is a dick, and I hope things get sorted out.

When you think that your husband is cheating on you, then you don't really think about those technicalities. Plus, it probably doesn't kinda sound like OP, it probably DOES sound like OP, because in the post it says there were very specific details that sounded like him. So I think the wife does have the right to be skeptical.

Before you accuse someone of cheating you should ALWAYS THINK. That isn't a little thing to accuse someone of, doing that enough, or over little things, means you have trust issues, and that will hurt your relationship with your partner. Craigslist ads are written, it doesn't matter how specific it is, that is not proof of cheating whatsoever. On the internet, even the most specific detail can apply to a million other people. Skepticism about your husband's faithfulness over a written online ad that someone else just "happen" to come across, is unreasonable.

You need to get a new brother. That's the best solution.

Your brother is detestable. His actions for beyond a prank or anything resembling a justified reaction. What he did can ruin your life, as well as that of your wife's and any children. Even if you can save your relationship with your wife, other people are bound to learn about it and you will have the stigma of being a cheater. I don't know how you can fix this OP, even if you get him to admit fault she might not believe you. All I can suggest is avoid your brother. He is toxic towards your life and this is not something to be easily forgiven. Damn man, good luck.

We don't use Craigslist in Australia? Or was that just because not as many people would recognise Gumtree, etc
RayneSmytson 24
Some people in Aus do use Craigslist for casual sex. It's just not as common and hardly any men actually FIND a woman to have sex with on it. But they do try. Go on it and have a look for yourself...

I always love seeing the ignorant people on here who go "I don't do that so clearly no one does." Jfc...

Love how I get 2 replies on this. You trying to help (thanks) and the other guy being a jerk. I was only asking a question, thanks for helping

Lyrica, you're a jerk.

I think the problem was that your comment was written out in a very confusing manner. Take some time to make sure your post actually says what you're trying to say to avoid the irate backlash of the ever-vengeful internet.

As revenge OP you should put his phone number on Craig's list and advertise "Seeking anal pleasure".

Try to explain this to your wife, if you have any issues report him to the police, I bet you he will try this again

Your brother is an overgrown child. Messing with someone's relationship over petty crap like that is never okay.

Here's how you get revenge. Tie your brother up, dump him in a muddy puddle that comes up to his waste. Set up a water system to drip water onto him every few seconds (preferably on his head, but if it misses and hits the puddle it's still good). Leave him there until he pisses himself repeatedly before finally letting him go.

Sooooo is this a tried and true method of yours? Where did you find the, um, inspiration?
Mangascribbler 19
Vikings, mate. I don't know where it came from before that, but the dripping water thing is a verified Viking torture method.
ThatHorse 15
I actually made it up based on methods of water torture I've read about, both real and fictional.
