Today, my dad vehemently refused to let me go on vacation to France with my best friend, because he watched Taken a few months ago and apparently forgot that it's just a movie. FML

Today, my friend had invited me to his home for a movie night with another friend. I had to decline because I have prior plans. He then revealed that they only wanted me there so I could bring DVDs, but "don't worry, we'll find something on Netflix to watch instead." FML

Today, I was watching a movie that had a mild sex scene in it. My mother walked in just as that scene was starting and she flipped out. I'm now grounded. She's taken my TV and laptop out of my room and refuses to let me see my boyfriend because she's sure he's the cause of my "disgusting behaviour". FML

Today, my dad lectured me because my mom cried herself to sleep last night. Why? Because I didn't want to watch a movie with her. I had to go to sleep to be up for work at 6 a.m., and was too tired to watch a movie in the first place. I live with drama queens. FML

not just a movie...however, in real life, the dad doesn't go on a crazy hunting killer spree...you just end up a druggie prostitute until they get rid of you. Be glad your dad cares

I think that's a bit much. But, I also see form his point of view. Just because it's just a movie, doesn't mean it's not possible. That movie taught a lot of people that human trafficking is a big issue and I don't blame him for being worried. Then again, it also really sucks that you can't go to France. Then again, human trafficking happens in the states, as well. A lot. Maybe he can go with you? If not, just wait a while and maybe later on you will be able to go.
