Today, I was waiting in line for what seemed like forever at the only open lane at the grocery store. The guy in front of me took his sweet time and had multiple cards rejected, before finally pulling out a $100 bill and demanding exact change. He was buying a carton of milk. FML

I'd say F the guys life cuz he had to be embarrassed about the fact so many of his cards had been rejected.

It's better than watching them attempt to pay in monopoly money..... Op If I were you I would have just bought the milk- after the first ten minutes of standing there... For the guy.

FYL, OP. I had a similar experience when working in a thrift store. A guy came in and gathered a cart-full of random items. When I rang everything through the till, we tried multiple cards, all of which didn't have enough money on them. At that point he decided that he didn't want all of the stuff that he grabbed and I couldn't void it, as the register was old. So the items he didn't want had to be subtracted from it individually, and again, we tried his debit card and he still didn't have enough money on it. He then pulled out a wad of cash. I felt really bad for the people that had to wait so long. :/

Omg!! I've had like the exact same thing happen to me but the guy In front if me was buying one pack of gum :/

I agree. Poor money management must feel pretty bad. :/

I can kinda see this from his perspective. He doesn't want to use a big bill because getting change would take forever. He tries using his cards to benefit everyone- Him, the cashier, and the people behind him. It just kinda backfired.
