Today, I was waiting in line for what seemed like forever at the only open lane at the grocery store. The guy in front of me took his sweet time and had multiple cards rejected, before finally pulling out a $100 bill and demanding exact change. He was buying a carton of milk. FML

I'd say F the guys life cuz he had to be embarrassed about the fact so many of his cards had been rejected.

You could have given him the money for it and done a nice thing

Is it often that people ask for change that isn't exact?

As a cashier I can promise you that that's not the case.

Why don't you get over yourself I mean damn not everything has to be convenient for you. And so what if he asked for exact change...it's not like the cashiers going to give it to him in only one dollars bills and ******* nickels. Jeesh

I hate when that happens...why are there 30 lanes but only one of them open at some stores? It's ridiculous...and I'm a cashier, so I know how it feels to be on that end too. I've had customers who move two miles an hour and the line gets backed up, but the manager didn't take her pager so I had no way to call for backup, and then I get yelled at because there were like 10 people in line because of this one person. I also had someone pay $15 in nothing but non-rolled quarters (thank God it wasn't nickles and dimes). Retail sucks...

I really can't see what's wrong with not giving more than the price asked for a carton of milk. This guy obviously has money issues if several cards were rejected. When you're broke, every coin matters. And when you're not, there's still no reason to pay more than what is asked.

Well I'd like to hear the other side of the story, should be more interesting.

I can just picture it going like this: Guy: shut up and take my money Cashier: dude, you're paying $100 for a carton off milk Guy: just take my money, I want that milk
