Today, I found out that my 2-year-old brother is afraid of his own penis. Whenever he doesn't have a diaper on, he screams, cries and yells, "Ew". FML

Don't worry, OP, this is a normal part of developing body awareness. One of my sons had this happen and it went away on it's own. I think he thought it was something stuck to him rather than part of his body. I just reassured him it's part of him and not scary.

He is quite young, but that is one of the early indicators of gender dysphoria, so try to be open to the possibility of that being the case with your child.

this is actually a sign of gender indentity disorder.... your son could very well mentally be female. Most transgendered people realize this at a very young age, as this would explain him being disgusted by his penis. But gender identity disorder is rare and it is more likely to be just a phase

I'm going to go along with some other folks and say that there's a distinct possibility that this kid is transgender. People do often come to the realization later in life that they're transgender, but some people also are aware that there's "something wrong" from a very early age. I wonder how much of a two-year-old's gender identity is tied up in his or her genitalia, as opposed to deriving gender identity from noticing things like clothing and social roles?
