I love everybody that's insulting the OP. As it's been said before, when you're at a certain education/intellectual level, your mind tends to make things more complex than they really are. Of course, a child is going to be able to think of the answer first, since the child thinks in simpler times. Those of you that are insulting the OP probably have a simpler thought process than the OP. Congrats, you think like a child. The book probably should have written it as "water in solid state". THAT is clearly ice. The term "solid water" made me think of non-Newtonian liquids.

i feel there may have been a slight twist on the the truth here it was probably not solid water but rather "heavy" water, which is just water with a deuterium isotope if it was indeed solid water you are a tool

i derno what's sadder, that you don't know what hard water is or that you believed him. epic fail. anyways, what i learned from billy mayes yelling at me: hard water is that stuff that comes out of your shower/sink/hose and causes lime scale (hard water is packed with minerals)
