Today, after the topic of grandkids came up yet again, my fiancé confessed that we've been having trouble conceiving. Later, I overheard his mum telling him to take my engagement ring back to the store and get a refund, because apparently I'm not worth marrying if I can't give him kids. FML

Today, I went with my beautiful fiancée to tell her grandmother, who's a bit senile, that we got engaged. Her response, "I know he's very nice, but think about the chubby little ugly children he'll give you." This was followed by a recollection of her ex-boyfriends who would've fathered attractive kids. FML

It could just be a run of bad luck. I know people who spent years trying and ended up with many kids after about 5 years of no luck

Could be stress of trying that's the problem, my wife and I quit pushing for conception just started having fun and bam she was pregnant with my daughter in less than a month.

OP you are in for a rough ride with this woman. If he doesn't or didn't stock up for you and your relationship, please rethink this. Mommie Dearest just automatically puts the blame on you, when there could be millions of reasons, her son could be (I hope not) one of them. People getting married will always, for the most part have families putting in their two sense, but when you get married you and your partner become your own family, that comes first before inlaws.
