WHY do parents do this... I had a similar situation when I was 16. Sure, I was 16 so it's to be expected that I was hormonal and dramatic, but it didn't make the feelings any less valid at the time. I had been holding it in for the longest time and finally told her about it, and she laughed at me. It was awful.

FYL for sure :( but it will be okay.
