Today, my mom and I made the bad decision to go hiking for some mother-daughter bonding even though we had little experience. My mother tumbled down a mountain named Tumbledown and I couldn't even enjoy the irony because I had to half carry her all the way back to the car. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I have a horrible hangover. My mom also decided it was a good day to go hiking. I ended up puking on the trail. FML
Today, my mum and I decided to go on a hike. Beforehand we left my car at the end of the trail and took my mums car to the beginning. After 4 hours we arrived at my car. I had left my keys in mums car. It was a long walk back. FML

Today, while hiking, my dad decided we should take the beeline trail down the mountain to save time. When we got to the bottom of the mountain, we discovered we were on the wrong side. We had to hike 13 extra miles to go around the mountain to get back to our car. FML
City boy
Today, I went on a hike with friends, but as I'm the worst outdoorsperson because I rarely venture outside of the city, I ended up getting lost in some woods after straying from our group. I ended up having to call 911 to be rescued. My friends will absolutely not let me live this ordeal down. FML
Today, while out hiking with my girlfriend, she thought it would be funny to push me down a small hill. It turned out there was a 16 foot drop at the end of it, and now my leg is in a cast. FML
Today, I had my first real break from work in ages, so I decided to go hiking. Less than 20 minutes in, I tumbled a couple hundred feet down a steep hill, broke my leg and several toes, and lay there in agony for an eternity before I was finally rescued. FML
Freak out
Today, I told my mom I was going hiking with a couple of friends and wouldn't be back for four or more hours. Not even two hours later, she called the cops and reported us as missing. She didn't realize that we wouldn't have service up the canyon so we could call her back. FML
Take a hike
Today, I went hiking with my family. A local had told us about the trail, saying the two mile walk would lead us to a seventy-foot waterfall. After seven miles of trekking in the sweltering sun with no food, we finally found the waterfall. It was barely ten feet tall. FML
Today, I was hiking with my uncle. We were going down a slope, and I kept slipping. He jokingly pushed me just as we approached a big drop. I ended up with three fractured ribs. FML
Take a hike
Today, my family and I went on a hike to a local abandoned gold mine, with the hopes of being able to explore the caves. What we didn't expect was four miles of treacherous, rocky, near vertical trails that led to the mine. Once we finally got there, exhausted, it was blocked off for safety reasons. FML

Since you can't enjoy the irony, I'll enjoy it for you. But seriously, I hope your mom is ok.

I'd be hard pressed to enjoy anything when my mother could be potentially seriously injured OP.

#23 I agree with you completely my family are my world so all I could be thinking about is I hope that she's okay and didn't break anything. I will say a prayer for your mom that she heals quickly that is if that's okay with you? I'm sorry OP that your quality time with your mother got cut short, maybe next time you guys can do something a little less dangerous.

Unfortunately, it isn't even irony. It is a funny coincidence though, so there's reason enough to laugh anyway :)

Yes #17 is right - irony would be the opposite. It would be ironic if the mountain was named "EasyFooting" and she lost her footing, or even stranger but relevant to this, if it was named "CannotTumbleDown" and she tumbled down.

Thats bonding right there! If you cant bond over carrying your own mom back up a mountain than i dont know what will work.

On the bright side the trail got the name for a reason, I bet she wasn't the first one to tumble down tumbledown mountain. The irony is also priceless
