Today, my dad took my car keys off my keychain and hid them from me. His reasoning was, "I don't want you to be driving during the winter." Guess who has to walk ten miles a day to work, through the New England snow. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, due to bad weather, my dad let me take his car to drive to my apartment 3 hours away. I only realized when I got there that my keys were still sitting on my parents' kitchen counter. FML
Drunken antics
Today, my dad got extremely drunk, so I took away his car keys and left on foot. When I came back, I saw that he had broken down my door. Now my dad is mad at me for not giving him the keys when he was drunk, and I'm door-less. FML
Today, I couldn't get to work because I couldn't find my car keys. It turns out, my mother took them and put them "somewhere safe." She can't remember where they are. FML
Helicopter parents
Today, my dad tried to confiscate my car keys because he doesn’t like how late I stay out on the weekends. I’m 26, have owned my own home since I was 24, and also how the fuck does he know what time I get home? My own dad is stalking me. FML
Today, I spent nearly half an hour clearing several inches of snow off my car. After almost suffering from hypothermia, I finished. Except the car keys were missing from my pocket, presumably buried under a foot of snow. FML
Today, I got fired. By my father. He wants me to drive him to work tomorrow. FML
Today, late for work, I called my dad to see if he knew where my keys were. Turns out he'd taken them on holiday with him because they have a bottle opener on them. FML
Today, a snow storm rolled into my small town, leaving my car stuck under 3 feet of snow. I called my boss to tell her I couldn't drive to work. Her reply? "Walk." FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. I had a spare key in my wallet, that I also left in the car. FML
Today, after a week of looking for my car keys and being forced to drag my family around on public transportation, my wife found the keys in our car's ignition. FML

You should reason with him. That sounds quite a bit more dangerous than driving in the snow.

Make him walk 10 miles in the snow and cold one day and see how he likes it.

Does New England not offer public transit? If not maybe he could car pool

Or just ask him to drive OP instead then.

I live on New Hampshire. It was 70 degrees up until the end of December. We've only had 2 inches of snow all winter. I think OP needs a wahmbulance.

Hide something of his with some crazy logic.

Hide his keys.

I live in New England and considering temperatures, a car is much safer. You should bring that up, try and convince him.

I could never imagine having to walk... I live in one of the snowiest cities in America by population thanks to lovely lake effect snow, and even walking from my dorm building to class can be rough.

Walking 10 miles in 6 feet of snow? No problem.

What does population have to do with with measuring which city has the most snow? Besides doesn't more population make it less of a hardship than less populated or a more rural location? You would have the luxury of more services to combat dealing with it like more and better plowed roads and more public transit routes? I'm guessing you live near the Great Lakes. They get some beautiful but wicked effects on the shorelines. I love seeing the photos every year. It's fascinating. Thankfully I only visit in the warmer months I don't think I could live there full time. I may get a lot of black ice but rarely have to shovel or worry about roof damage and our heating bills are a lot lower. For you guys up north layering isn't a fashion statement its survival!

Well, at least there's not very much snow as of yet, so you have time to talk with him. Walking ten miles in the cold still sucks, though. :/

You should definitely try to convince him to give you your keys back. Good luck.

Are you a new driver OP? If so I can understand why he would worry especially during winter conditions, however walking 10 miles in bad weather also sounds dangerous so I hope you can reason with him
