Today, I had the misfortune of being left alone with my dad. He took it as an opportunity to tell me in detail all about his recent vasectomy, and the complications the surgeon had due to the scar tissue on my dad's testicles. FML

I was just thinking the same thing. A better question is who gives a damn? There are a lot more legitimate reasons to hate your life than not being a planned baby. More like **** your parents life.

The doctor probably did everything right. The is a two week period when your sperm still has swimmers. Also, you may not know how it works but they cut the tube they don't actually "tie" it, so sometimes it grows back together and the sperm/egg(depending on male or female) can get through again resulting in pregnancy. I'm not sure of the ratio of that happening in men but in women it's about 1:300, which is fairly common.
