Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our five-year anniversary. I got him a new flat-screen TV. He got me toilet seat cover. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, is my boyfriend and my 3 year anniversary. We decided to give each other something that we really needed. I bought him the $300 worth of books that he needed for college. He surprised me with a workout video and exercise equipment. FML
Today, is my five year anniversary. My boyfriend said he was gonna get me something shiny this year. I thought he was gonna propose. He got me a set of sparkle glue. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me an anniversary present to mark 5 years of us being together. It was a Mooncup. FML
Today, I gave my girlfriend a new TV as a 10th anniversary present. She gave me a torch on a keyring. FML

Happy… where d'he go?
Today, it's our fifth-year anniversary with my boyfriend. I gave him his gift and walked over to the kitchen to serve him some food I'd made. On my way back to the dining room, I overheard his plans with his friend to ditch me in 10 minutes. FML
Today, I was spending time with my boyfriend for our one year anniversary. Trying to be romantic, I told him that I loved him and I was so glad I was with him. He responded by giving me a thumbs-up and turning back to the TV. FML
Today, it is my three-year-anniversary with my boyfriend. I asked if he had planned anything for us, and he said yes. My parents volunteered to watch our daughter, I got all excited, and apparently our "plans" are to watch a football game. What do I get to do? Make sandwiches. For him. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our six-month anniversary. And by that, I mean he brought along his obnoxious best friend, and I paid for everyone's dinner at an expensive restaurant. FML
Today, it is my boyfriend's and my one year anniversary. I bought him a Playstation 2. As soon as I gave it to him, he went straight to set it up without giving me anything. I said "What about me?" He walked over to me, gave me a kiss and said "I love it when you buy me things for no reason." FML

If it was a heated toilet seat cover then it was an even trade. I don't think you fully understand how the mind of a guy works if you think that this was a FML.

Was it a carpeted toilet seat cover? Cause IMHO those are simply amazing. Sometimes I just sit on them to sit on them.

What? Would you prefer a cold butt?

You really should open the lid before doing your business, even if the lid is carpeted.

If you've been dating 5 years I'm guessing you've already moved in together. Which means you're both selfish and bought gifts that you know YOU would be using as well. Its not a FML, its not even a YDI, its a GTFO. The only other possibility is that its a YDI because you should've told him about something you wanted.

That's a HUGE assumption. I know of at least 2 couples that have been dating 5+ plus years and are not living together.

ahhhh, a toilet seat, the gift that keeps on giving

you can't value your relationship by the cost of something! you are too shallow. YDI

That's a bad gift, but since you also named your gift I get the feeling that you think a gift is given in exchange for something similar in stead of, well, as a gift. So YDI.

if you don't live together, maybe it means he'd like to move in together... you never know.
