Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our five-year anniversary. I got him a new flat-screen TV. He got me toilet seat cover. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, is my boyfriend and my 3 year anniversary. We decided to give each other something that we really needed. I bought him the $300 worth of books that he needed for college. He surprised me with a workout video and exercise equipment. FML
Today, is my five year anniversary. My boyfriend said he was gonna get me something shiny this year. I thought he was gonna propose. He got me a set of sparkle glue. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me an anniversary present to mark 5 years of us being together. It was a Mooncup. FML
Today, I gave my girlfriend a new TV as a 10th anniversary present. She gave me a torch on a keyring. FML
Today, it's our first wedding anniversary, or Paper anniversary. I got him airline tickets for an expensive weekend break for two in Berlin. He got me a toilet roll. FML
Happy… where d'he go?
Today, it's our fifth-year anniversary with my boyfriend. I gave him his gift and walked over to the kitchen to serve him some food I'd made. On my way back to the dining room, I overheard his plans with his friend to ditch me in 10 minutes. FML
Today, I was spending time with my boyfriend for our one year anniversary. Trying to be romantic, I told him that I loved him and I was so glad I was with him. He responded by giving me a thumbs-up and turning back to the TV. FML
Today, it is my three-year-anniversary with my boyfriend. I asked if he had planned anything for us, and he said yes. My parents volunteered to watch our daughter, I got all excited, and apparently our "plans" are to watch a football game. What do I get to do? Make sandwiches. For him. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our six-month anniversary. And by that, I mean he brought along his obnoxious best friend, and I paid for everyone's dinner at an expensive restaurant. FML
Today, it is my boyfriend's and my one year anniversary. I bought him a Playstation 2. As soon as I gave it to him, he went straight to set it up without giving me anything. I said "What about me?" He walked over to me, gave me a kiss and said "I love it when you buy me things for no reason." FML

Hahah I hate those padded ones, too, ick. I can't remember which relative of mine had one but I never wanted to go over there again.

I say you should have been more thoughtful what kind of gf gets her bf a TV? A toilet seat cover is somthing you will use every day (hopefully)

Damn. Can't even YDI this one since it was a 5 year relationship... unless last year and the year before that were just as pathetic, in which case you probably should have learned your lesson by now.

Well....it's the thought that counts? For our 5th, I got him a stuffed giraffe (took me ages to find a nice one) and he bought me a One Piece (anime) shirt. Gifts don't have to be expensive to be full of love.

why would u get him something as expensive as a flat screen tv for an anniversary? of course, everything is going to pale in comparison. im sorry, but u just sound shallow and materialistic.

There's always one person who has to start the "OMG UR SO SHALLOW AND SELFISH!!111" bandwagon. "My parents abandoned me and I was raised by wolves and I got a dead squirrel for my 16th birthday and YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT BAD?!?!?!?!!?"

I want to ride the "your so shallow bandwagon too! It's the thought that counts. I must conclude that the amount of time the OP spends on the can is proportional to the time her BF spends in front of the TV and therefore we have equally thoughtful gifts.
