Today, it is my three-year-anniversary with my boyfriend. I asked if he had planned anything for us, and he said yes. My parents volunteered to watch our daughter, I got all excited, and apparently our "plans" are to watch a football game. What do I get to do? Make sandwiches. For him. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, is my boyfriend and my 3 year anniversary. We decided to give each other something that we really needed. I bought him the $300 worth of books that he needed for college. He surprised me with a workout video and exercise equipment. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our five-year anniversary. I got him a new flat-screen TV. He got me toilet seat cover. FML
Today, it's my 8 year anniversary. My boyfriend's "romantic" gesture for the occasion was to toss a few McDonald's coupons at me and tell me to get whatever I wanted. FML
Happy… where d'he go?
Today, it's our fifth-year anniversary with my boyfriend. I gave him his gift and walked over to the kitchen to serve him some food I'd made. On my way back to the dining room, I overheard his plans with his friend to ditch me in 10 minutes. FML
Today, it is my boyfriend's and my one year anniversary. I bought him a Playstation 2. As soon as I gave it to him, he went straight to set it up without giving me anything. I said "What about me?" He walked over to me, gave me a kiss and said "I love it when you buy me things for no reason." FML
Today, it was my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. We had dinner reservations to an expensive restaurant and planned to see a movie after. At least, we did, until he called to tell me he'd volunteered to work tonight. He won't get off until 2am. FML
Today, I was spending time with my boyfriend for our one year anniversary. Trying to be romantic, I told him that I loved him and I was so glad I was with him. He responded by giving me a thumbs-up and turning back to the TV. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our six-month anniversary. And by that, I mean he brought along his obnoxious best friend, and I paid for everyone's dinner at an expensive restaurant. FML
Dammit
Today, after a month of planning, I started to tease my boyfriend of 3 years about the wonderful anniversary plans I had made for us. It was a secret, so I let him try and guess. He said, "As long as it's not a spa day. That would suck, I'd never go." It's a spa day. That I've already paid for. FML
Today, is the 6 month anniversary of my boyfriend and I. Turns out next month he will be celebrating the 3 year anniversary of him and his wife. FML

i have to at least commend the guy for staying with you for 3 years and raising a kid with you despite not making any long term commitment like marriage

You guys are kind of assholes. She doesn't have to marry the guy to have kids. Marriage isn't right for some people. Just because someone has a kid with someone without getting married doesn't mean the kid is going to be ****** up. It's better to have the people not get married then to get married and always fight around the kid. People should quit being so judgemental.

You're an idiot. That's probably why you assume any necessary relationship between raising a child and being married.

YOU DESERVED IT FOR GETTING KNOCKED UP BY AN ASSHOLE.

Leave him. You're an idiot if you don't.
birds_fml 7
At least you're not married. It'll be a lot easier to dump the jerk. You're WAY better off without him... just think... he'll have to pay child support still, and your parents are obviously close enough that they can help you raise your kid. Then you can find a guy who will treat you with respect.
RyeBreadBoy 0
that mentality is why kids are so ****** up nowadays. hey, let's all have kids with our boyfriends and then we can just break up and the man will have to pay child support while i sit on my ass because i don't want to work and don't have to since he has to pay me 51 percent of what he makes. in the meantime, i'll bitch to my kid about how much of an asshole her dad was so that she'll either grow up to hate men or turn into a huge ***** because she never had daddy's love and wants men to "love" her, and she can't distinguish between sex and love. maybe next time get married first, and then you could've figured out that he was a douchebag before popping out a couple babies.

#40 hit it right on.

Rye, you are officially my favorite poster here.

Wow, what a judgemental douchebag you are.

#40 is my hero and #55 is the kind of **** #40 is talking about!
alliemi 0
#40 is pretty judgmental but sadly, I kind of have to agree. I've seen this happen. On the other hand, though, the father shouldn't have had kids (equally his responsibility) with a woman who he wasn't married to if he didn't want to pay child support.
cucumberfabulous 7
#40 is right! Just like everyone else said.... Except in my case it's my dad saying all the mean things about my mum and telling me how to treat a man the right way..
yellowbirdx 0
Actually, I wholly believe in waiting until wedlock to have children, but just because some people don't doesn't mean what #40 described is always going to happen. It's called having an open mind. You should try it sometime, metheonlyb.
slythwolf 2
@#40 - A child is going to be a lot healthier and happier if his or her parents are not in a dysfunctional relationship.
