Today, I woke up thinking after wearing glasses and contacts all my life that I had miraculously been corrected to 20/20. Turns out I had just fallen asleep with my contacts in. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I woke up, and I could see perfectly. Somehow, during the night, my eyes magically became 20/20. I was overjoyed, until I realized I'd fallen asleep with my glasses on. My eyes are still trash, and I want to cry. FML
Today, I woke up and put my contacts in. It appears that I got drunk enough last night that instead of soaking my contacts in contact solution, I used mouthwash. FML
Today, I got into the shower with my glasses on by mistake. I spent 5 minutes convinced that the fog in my vision was me going blind. FML
Today, I bought an eye mask to help me sleep during the day, as I work night shifts. Upon waking up after my first time using it, I forgot I was wearing it and thought I had gone blind, causing me to fall out of the bed and split my head open on my bedside table. FML
Today, I went to the eye doctor. For the past three days every time I wear my glasses I become nauseous, get migraines, and have that "fish-eye view" where everything is rounded. Turns out they placed my lenses on the wrong sides. FML
Today, I wore a pair of glasses with no lenses because I thought I'd look smarter. I ended up poking myself in the eye several times, leaving it swollen. So much for making me look smarter. FML
Today, I woke up hungover and thirsty, I found a glass of water next to the sink, filled it up with more water, chugged it and went back to bed. I woke up an hour later to my best friend telling me she thought she lost her contacts. They were in a glass next to the sink. I ate her contacts. FML
Blur
Today, I spent almost 10 minutes cleaning my glasses because everything looked blurry. The problem wasn't my glasses. I was actually wearing my sister's, who apparently got almost the same frames as mine. FML
Today, I searched frantically for my glasses for ages. After giving up, I realised I could see perfectly. I had been wearing them the whole time and neither my mother nor my father told me because "it was far too funny" watching me yell "Where the fuck are they?" FML
Today, I went to get a facial. I forgot my contact case so I put them into paper cup. My beautician thought it was leftover water from someone else, and threw my only pair of vision aid away. I scuttled home half blind. FML

that's happened to me it sucked to realize that I was still legally blind.

not really. I have contacts u can sleep in. I hardly take them out

You can get a yellow eggroll thing if you go a few months without taking them out. Every now and then on accident is alright but too much is bad. I don't see why the OP didn't feel the pain that follows after waking up with them on.

#10, if you are blind then how are you typing on the computer?

That's what I was thinking

Well, braille keyboards aside, how did #10 even read the FML in the first place? ...Yeah, I say he was ******* with us.
Darwinawardwinne 0
He said 'legally' which means he can't drive, but apparently his vision is sufficient to type without fear of causing traffic accidents.

@93: Im legally blind in my left eye, (20:169) yet I can still see perfectly fine in my right eye (20:19).

@120 Computer software for the blind reads webpages out to them. I have met several blind people on online forums who use software to read pages, and braille keyboards to type. Also, legal blindness means your vision is worse than 20/200 and (this is the most important part!) cannot be corrected with lenses, or, 20/200 is the best it can be corrected to. My vision is worse than 20/200, but as glasses improve it to about 20/40, I am not legally blind. By this definition, a person who is legally blind may not be able to use a computer any better than a completely blind person. I know without my glasses I have to be right up on the computer screen, and my vision is only 20/400! It's actually rather uncommon for a person to be totally blind (that is, not being able to see anything at all), so most blind people you meet are legally blind.

i have a friend that's 'legally blind' with contacts or glasses you can see
happypenguin7293 0
actually depending on the contacts it's really not. I have contacts and for the first year I took them out every night but then I accidentally fell asleep in them (they r meant for that) and now I sleep in them everynight

haha that's really funny . but yea it is really bad for your eyes if u hve ur contacts in for too long.
MQ_was_here 0
Exactly, whenever I accidently sleep in them they become *stuck* to my eyes. I literally have to PEEL them off. Nastiest feeling ever!
sexybitch2292 0
then get the contacts tht r safe to sleep in. that's what I have and I never have problems with them. and I hardly take them out

I've done it more than once...I know full well it's bad for your eyes, but it happens. OP, remember you still need to take them out and clean them.

Even a year after getting my eye surgery, I still have mornings where I wake up and reach for where I used to keep my glasses -- even though I have my eyes open and can see perfectly well. It's weird how your brain works when you first wake up.
