Today, I was walking my husky when she saw a cat and bolted toward it. I couldn't let go of the leash because my hand was tangled up. Forced to run along, I ran into a parked van at full sprint. I lost my dog, broke two ribs and have to pay for the dent in the van. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Classic canine move
Today, I was walking my dog when another dog barked at him. My dog ran, pulling me with him. I fell to the ground in pain, with my hand still holding the leash. FML
Today, while on a run off campus with my german shepherd, I tried to impress a couple of hot fraternity guys playing football outside of their house. I broke out into a full sprint. I then got tangled in my dog's leash and fell straight in to a parked jeep knocking myself unconscious. FML
WOOF!
Today, I ran into a parked car and fell into the gutter. All because a dog suddenly barked at me. From the other side of a wooden fence. FML
Naughty boy
Today, I was walking my dog when I tripped on the leash, dropping his treat bag. He snatched one, looked at me, and ran full speed in the opposite direction. I had to chase him for three blocks, yelling his name. He thought it was a new game. FML
Today, I went for a run, and my own dog attacked me. FML
Today, I came home on crutches. My dog was immediately afraid of them, and came running towards me, growling and barking. She ran right into me, knocking me over. FML
Bad boy
Today, I was driving home with my girlfriend. As we turned onto our block, she shrieked that our dog was running down the street and into traffic. I jumped out of the moving car and chased him for about a mile, only to give up, go home, and find out it wasn't our dog. FML
Today, my dog chewed through his leash, so I had to take him inside to prevent him from running off. I went to bed. I woke up to torn-up blinds, half-ate sandals, and a very, very anxious cat due to my dog running after her and trying to sniff her butt. FML
STOP! BAD DOG!
Today, the family dog escaped and I ran after her. She started attacking a random dog, so I started clapping and yelling, trying to get her attention. After I got her away, my hands started swelling. I clapped my hands so hard that they're swollen and bruised. FML
Today, I was walking down a path in the woods behind my house when I saw a squirrel. It ran away, but little did I know it wasn't running from me, it was running from the dog that had forced Animal Control to sweep the area. I ended up with stitches in my leg. FML

what would letting go of leash do?
icall_BS 0
Are you some sort of ******* retard? If he let go of the leash he wouldn't have gotten dragged on by the dog. Which means no broken ribs, and no car damage payment.
MoosesMeeses 0
No really are you retarded? It's not like theres a $500+ husky on the leash or anything... :|
skellingtonfart 18
It would've prevented two broken ribs and paying for damage on the van. Durrr...

Her hand was tangled in the leash for one... And if she had the chance to let go, it would've prevented 2 of the things 3 she stated.

I'm pretty sure if you were to hold your ground your dog couldn't have pulled you too much. Unless you're a 90 pound person, in which case you probably couldn't have helped this situation. Broken ribs suck either way.

get some muscles kid! sheesh

it's a husky, they can drag along much greater weights than just the mass of one person!
Andrew4965 16
Yes they can drag greater weight...which is why op should not just lay down on the ground and hope the dog can't drag her. Humans theoretically have muscles. It's like those strong-man competitions where guys drag large trucks; how many of them do you think could move the same truck if it was turned on and gunning it the other way? That said, I'm sorry for op. I love big dogs, but they can be a handful, particularly if they catch you by surprise. You shouldn't take a dog in public that you can't reliably control through either strength or the dog's training though. And modern cars dent way to easily. And broken ribs suck. And I hope the cat's ok.

Well don't own a dog you can't handle ffs. What if he suddenly decided to go after a funny smelling kid or smth?

awe, that sucks.

#2, she would let go of the leash so she wouldn't be forced to run with her dog... Although #4 has a point... dogs are pretty strong, but most people are able to hold them back somewhat unless the person is small, or the dog is HUGE. So... if you hit the van, doesn't that mean your dog ran into it too? I mean your dog was guiding you right? Hm... maybe I just can't picture it
