Today, I was in a Zumba class with a young woman in her 20s and an older woman in her 80s. I couldn't keep up with either one of them. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, as a male in his 40s, I went to "mixed" aerobics. I arrived late to find the entire female class had started intensely warming up. Within 5 minutes I pulled a calf muscle and left limping pathetically past a martial arts class. FML
Today, I was trying to work out, and couldn't even complete an exercise regime meant for 50-year-olds. I'm 24. FML
Today, I injured my knee at a Zumba class, a class I joined to lose weight so my knees wouldn't hurt so much. Now I can't even go for a leisurely walk. FML
Today, I was trying to exercise more, so I went for a walk. I was quickly overtaken by a middle-aged lady with cankles, carrying heavy shopping bags in each hand. I'm 19, skinny, and apparently very unfit. FML
Dirty dancing
Today, I went to the gym to try out a new workout class. Halfway through, I realized I was in the wrong room and had accidentally joined a dance class. FML
Passing
Today, I went to go to an aerobics class. Shen the instructor walked in, she went up to me and told me it was a women only class. I am a woman. FML
Today, I went with my girlfriend to the gym for the first time. I knew I was in bad shape, but I bet her that I could lift more than her. Not only did I get my ass handed to me by a 5', 115lbs girl in front of the entire gym, I also have to attend Zumba in bright pink spandex. FML
Resolutions come and go
Today, I tried a new workout class as part of my New Year's resolution to get fit. The instructor said, “Don’t worry, we’ll start easy.” Twenty minutes in, I was flat on the floor while everyone else continued effortlessly. When the instructor asked if I was OK, I gave a thumbs-up, but I haven’t been able to sit down since. FML
Impressed indeed
Today, I joined a dance class to impress my girlfriend. Halfway through, I realized I had two left feet. The instructor asked me to demonstrate a simple move, and instead I tripped on the mat, fell into another dancer, and took her down with me. I’ve been banned from all future classes. FML
Pump it up
Today, I'd signed up to try a workout class at the gym. However, as soon as the instructor started the class, I realized it was much more intense than I had anticipated. I ended up passing out and had to be carried out of the class by the instructor. FML

Maybe, eventually, you will be able to go all out. First time I went I barely did anything but laugh...had no idea what I was doing. But as I kept going I started to get my head around individual moves and full routines and my fitness levels were rising and I started to be able to get a lot more out of the classes. 11 months on I'm at 6 classes a week, front row centre and loving every minute. Just keep going back and just enjoy yourself :)

I think we've established that he posted on the wrong fml.
ShroomsOnAcid 17
I don't know about that, 32. I think we're going to need more evidence in the form of more people repeating the same thing.

Wederoney 16
I agree! Everyone has to start off somewhere. At least it can't get worse.

i'm taking a zumba class and i can't imagine that a woman in her 80s could do that. you really must be out of shape!
OhHushDear 11
Yeah, it's a bit too strenuous for old people, I would think...
GoW_Chick 15
...or the eighty year old is really in shape, don't count them out yet just because they're older, I've seen ladies that old doing all sorts of "younger" people activities.
ShroomsOnAcid 17
There are many 80 year olds who can do things younger people probably can't. Both sets of my grandparents lived well into their 90s, and never stopped exercising or limiting their mobility. They might have been old, but they never acted like it. I think it depends on overall quality of life and health throughout it, as well as genes. That said, I have to say I don't often see such vibrant elderly people in the US. Look at Japan's old grannies and feel the shame!
OhHushDear 11
Lol @ "Japan's old grannies." New favorite phrase =D
chili10 18
When I ran my first marathon I got passed up by dozens of hardcore older men and women. Don't underestimate them.
TheFirstSamurai 18
Yeah, old people are running marathons and pushing people into bushes.
DustyStorm 16
I've taught many people that are older in my Zumba classes....don't knock old people! They keep up with me!
burtonbullet 10
My neighbor just finished a huge addition to his house, and he's 93. As long as you have what it takes, you can do anything at any age.
Ali_Br_fml 33
Well, I guess that's why you are in the zumba class. Soon you will be able to keep up with 80-yr olds OP... then you'll have some bragging rights...
taytay7878 0
Just keep practicing and you'll get it
Enslaved 38
The object of Zumba class is to get in shape and have fun doing it. Once you get uses to the routine, it'll get easier.
mama2b3 20
80? That's a little discouraging I'm sure but just stick with it, I'm sure you'll get better with time.
cjg2013 0
at least your doing something. good for you!!
disco2466 8
i have a rope in my garage if you need it?
mama2b3 20
A rope for op to trip the other people with, thus making themselves look better?
OhHushDear 11
That was a horrible thing to say.
ShroomsOnAcid 17
37- Because donating other people's blood at a blood drive is just lovely?
ShroomsOnAcid 17
Psshhh, the picture changed. Sneaky!
bizarre_ftw 22
What was the pic before?
OhHushDear 11
It was an Insanity Wolf meme that said "Go to a blood drive. Donate other people's blood." But I changed it to one of me before I even saw that he said anything...
thisisafunnyname 12
25, I think 14 was talking about using the rope to go into the Zumba class with a lasso like Indiana Jones.
