Today, I was trying to exercise more, so I went for a walk. I was quickly overtaken by a middle-aged lady with cankles, carrying heavy shopping bags in each hand. I'm 19, skinny, and apparently very unfit. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I did a sprint in gym class. Despite being the skinniest in the class, I ran slower than everyone else, including two morbidly obese people. FML
Today, I was trying to work out, and couldn't even complete an exercise regime meant for 50-year-olds. I'm 24. FML
Today, I was walking my dog when he decided that he was too lazy to continue walking. It ended up with me looking like a crazy dog lady carrying my medium-sized dog home. FML
Today, I had to walk three miles home from work. Both my parents were at home. The reason they wouldn't collect me is apparently because I've "gotten so fat, your grandma cried after she saw you". FML
Jog on
Today, feeling out of shape, I went for a jog. I got mugged. FML
Health is overrated
Today, trying to get into shape because I run out of breath after walking more than 30 minutes, I started to hit the gym. Too bad my legs didn’t want to cooperate and decided that it would cause limping-worthy pain for every step I took on the treadmill. FML
Today, I was helping my wife bring in the groceries. She was able to carry 4 bags and a jug of milk. I was struggling with 2 bags. FML
Cautionary tale
Today, I had trouble carrying a box upstairs because my arms were sore from working out. My mom asked me, "Why are you working out so much then?" I didn't have the heart to tell her it was because of her 100-pound weight gain and that I didn't want to end up looking like her. FML
Today, I was in a Zumba class with a young woman in her 20s and an older woman in her 80s. I couldn't keep up with either one of them. FML
Today, I went to the supermarket; it was taking me ages to walk home because of the heavy food bags. Halfway home, I realised I had gone in my car. I had to walk all the way back to get my car. FML

Maybe you should admire this woman who appears to be in better shape than you instead of talking about her "cankles". You deserved it if for no other reason than you need to learn some respect.

Fitness isn't always determined by size. Just keep working at it OP. No matter one's size, if you're exercising, then you're still doing better than the willful couch potato.

If she had bags on both arms, I'm not surprised that she was in a hurry. That's heavy and can sometimes be so tight on the arms depending how the bags were placed. Don't feel bad op, but if you feel it's necessary or desired, you could work into getting more in shape :)

Thank you. I came here just to say this. I'm overweight/obese with those offensive "cankles" and I can generally outwalk a LOT of skinny people. You deserve it for believing weight defines health. Suck it up, buttercup. Keep walking and next time, keep your offensive judgement of others' bodies to yourself.

Thank you! I came in to say exactly this. As for OP, suck it up, buttercup. Keep walking and put preconceived notions about size and health where ti belongs, in the trash.

Keep it up OP. When I first started walking everyday 3 years ago, I was walking with a 61 yr old neighbor and she was in way better shape than I was at the time(I was 38 at the time). Now I have lost over 60 lbs and my endurance is way better now.

Chin up, young lady, there's hope. With regular walking exercise, you can also improve your fitness AND build up your cankles!

Other than problems like edema related to obesity, ankle size has almost nothing to do with how much you weigh. YDI for being judgemental.

I'm 19, very thin, and definitely not fit(wanting to work on that), it's called being lucky. Though it is very frustrating when you're trying to gain weight. You can't tell how healthy or how fit someone is just looking at weight. Just because you're thin doesn't mean you're healthier or more fit than a heavier person.

Goodness. Salty much? YDI just for that.

I've had chubby and old people blow past me in endurance races many times. Don't judge a book by its cover.
