Today, I met up with a few old friends for some wine and munchies. The main topics of conversation were colonoscopies, lactose intolerance and specific symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. I'm sleeping over at one of their houses. Only 20 more hours to go. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

These are normal meal-time conversations at the Bastard household. We throw in pus, the stench of dead colon, and blood just for good measure.

Welcome to middle age

Old friends indeed.

Omg, sounds like my family! Even over Thanksgiving dinner they were discussing how awful the gallon of Barium tastes for colonoscopies....in front of my boyfriend. He later said that he was going to join in about his.....

You don't need barium for colonoscopies.

But bowels are so interesting!

Start a game, monopoly or hints.

Which one bleached their butthole?

Can't you just change the topic of disscusion?

Do they work in the medical field? If not, then that is TMI on their part! Even then so, they should still be considerate of the people around them. Some people get grossed out more easily than others. Sorry OP!

So when you said "old" you meant literally?? Lol.

I'm so glad that these issues are able to be joked about and somehow makes these characteristics of older people. I have Crohn's disease. I have had 4 colonoscopies, 3 endoscopies, and multiple other procedures. And I am nineteen years old. So yes. Continue to joke about and "feel the pain" from hearing about this. TRY ACTUALLY EXPERIENCING IT. ******. -.-
