Today, Muse cancelled their upcoming show in Oslo. I bought my sold-out tickets on the black market for double the retail price, and have no way of getting my money back. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Born to run
Today, after taking various trains to get to Marseille to see Bruce Springsteen in concert, whom I've been waiting about 30 years to see, I found out only a few hours before it was supposed to start that the gig had been cancelled due to The Boss having "vocal issues." I'd even spent 50€ on a t-shirt. I actually cried. FML
Today, I arrived at work to find an email from the manager whom I had bought concert tickets from the night before. He said he had actually sold those tickets to someone else. He still expects to be paid. FML
Rain stops play
Today, the arts company I work for cancelled our 8 pm sold-out outdoor performance at 7:30 due to rain, and will have to reticket 550 patrons. I'm the only person in the office trained in ticketing. It stopped raining 10 minutes after we cancelled it. FML
Worst prank ever
Today, to be kind, I gave away my tickets for an electronic music event I could no longer attend to a Facebook stranger. Later, they told me they were refused at the door. Turns out the pdf I'd received from the ticketing system contained some placeholder values and invalid QR data. And this happened on April 1st. FML
We hear it was a great show!
Today, I was supposed to be going to Edinburgh to see my favourite band live. I was expecting to be picked up at 8 a.m. for the drive there, but I woke up to a text saying my friend bought tickets for the wrong city. The show he paid was for 2 days ago. FML
Today, I remembered that the concert I bought tickets for over a month in advance was yesterday. FML
Nice try
Today, someone tried to scam me by selling me a ticket to a Chris Cornell concert. FML
Thanks for the memories
Today, it was the concert of my life. I had bought tickets the minute they went on sale, and I'd anxiously waited until the concert date. Thirty minutes before the show, my friend got so drunk that we weren't allowed in, and I was stuck babysitting her all night in the hotel, completely missing the show. FML
Today, I was going to a big concert at my university. I paid around a hundred twenty bucks for my ticket. Outside the venue, people were handing out the tickets. For free. FML
Oversight
Today, I drove six hours with a friend to see one of her favorite bands in concert. We were turned away at the door because the online site didn't say we had to be 21 to enter. I drove six hours back with nothing to show for it but an empty gas tank and useless tickets. FML

that's why you don't go to the black market

1- Good thing you said that. For a minute I thought OP was blaming me. Phew, glad that's cleared up.

He probably went to the black market because it was sold out.

23 - Exactly. Ticket resale has become big business now too. Sports teams reserve thousands of tickets each game for online resellers whose sole purpose is to mark up the price on average Joes. Although I guess with those you at least get a guarantee.

Op is from norway, he or she may have meant buying from the secondary market, IE craigslist, and not from drug dealers and kidney sellers when saying black market.
sniken 14
I'm guessing the same as you guys above. And if so is to be true, that he bought it off the Norwegian "craigslist" (Finn.no) then I agree - fyl op. It's just like buying a ticket from a friend that can't go. Just at a higher cost. Op should contact the seller and ask him/her to reimburse the ticket. That could get OP half his money back.

Kidney sellers lol

Don't you DARE insult the black market, he didn't mean it black market, it's okay, I'm here, no, no, don't cry... See what you did!?!?

How, 2, is the show being canceled connected with op's decision to buy them on the black market.

Should've tried to win your way in on the radio or something first.
unknown_user5566 27
Or just purchase the tickets from an official seller.
love_me_electric 20
16 - I'm pretty sure if the official seller was completely out, otherwise why would he pay twice the face value for them?
BeccaHugs 17
It said "sold out" in the post. Read before you comment 16.
unknown_user5566 27
34/35- I meant that OP should've planned ahead, and purchased them from an official seller. I know they were sold out at the time OP ended up buying them.
LlamaUprising 10
37- I not trying to argue, but you can't always get the tickets you want even if you plan ahead. Tickets can sell out in minutes, and this could have happened to the OP.

Because winning a radio contest is guaranteed.

Never pay double price on the black market. It's way too risky.

6- I guess hindsight is truly 20/20!

I never go double price on the black market; too cheap. I go triple price for my panda-lizard hybrid eggs for my breakfast.

As my mother always tells me, no sympathy for doing stupid things.
WCARlover 35
Just look up their next shows in advance and buy the tickets through verified Sellers, that's all you can really do
ClassyCommando 13
Or he could sell the tickets to some sucker to get some money out of it.

Some people seriously need morals.

Some people need to stop taking everything so damned seriously.

Bad luck brian.

The seller is definitely the success kid.
mea_iloveskiing 26
Probably :)!

You should at least be able to get face value.
anedderm 4
15- He could take them to the box office and get their value back/
scoobtig 11
He bought them illegally, he can't take them to get his money back, that's why it says "black market"
kellygirl83 11
If he goes there and says he received them as a gift, he maybe able to get the face value back or a gift card equal to face value to be used at another concert.
fakkumairaifu 14
This. Common sense. If it's a real ticket then the original vendor should issue a refund or ticket to an equivalent show.
charvisioku 22
53: so how would the box office know he bought them illegally (assuming that's even the case)? Like everyone else has said... say it was a gift. Simple. If the show is cancelled there will almost certainly be refunds for the tickets. Although I suppose there could be a problem if they asked for a receipt.
