Today, I had to tell a girl I liked she couldn't sleep over because I live with my parents. I'm 24. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, the guy I've been seeing for a few months told me he couldn't stay overnight because his mom would yell at him for not coming home. We're both 30 and I didn't know he still lived at home. FML
Today, I woke up next to my girlfriend. I was woken up by my mother breaking into my house to tell me I need to get ready for work. Then she got mad that I had a girl over. I'm 20. FML
Today, excited that I finally got a place of my own, I invited my boyfriend over for a sexy sleep over. He told me his mom doesn't want him sleeping over. He's 21 years old. FML
Today, I had to hide in the closet all morning because my 22-year-old boyfriend didn't want to admit to his parents that he had his girlfriend stay the night. FML
Today, I learned that my 29-year-old boyfriend won't stay the night at my house because he lives at home with his parents and doesn't want to have "the discussion" with his mom about me. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I got into trouble with his mother for me still being at their house at 1:00 am. I'm 24, he's 22 and we really were studying. FML
Today, my mum cleaned my room. When I got home she yelled at me for having condoms. I'm 24 years old and in a long term relationship. FML
Surprise surprise!
Today, my girlfriend's parents have been having issues with her older brother and her mom called to say she was flying over to stay with my girlfriend. I'm twice my girlfriend's age and she hasn't told her parents about me. She also sublet out her apartment and we have been living together for over a year. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because I said I wouldn't find her attractive in 20 years. What I actually said was that I wouldn't sleep with her mother now, who happens to be 20 years older than her. FML
Today, my boyfriend threw a fit because I "still" live with my mother at age 30. I bought her an apartment in my building and hired a live-in nurse because she is senile and permanently bedridden. FML

Right now, lots of 24 year-olds live with their parents. Normally I'd be with #2 and say get a job, but obviously the job market is pretty poor at the moment.

I don't really think that would be considered a sleep over when you're that old :P

I'm twenty and have lived on my own since I was 18. I manage to make ends meet, but I still find a way. If I can do it, then you have no excuse. I haven't got any special connections or an amazingly high paying job. I work front desk at a hotel and try to juggle that with school. I can pay my rent, my phone bill, my internet, electric bill, and buy groceries just fine. It's a struggle and I haven't got much b ut I can do it. You deserve that one.

yes, but you weren't laid off while living on your own.. or graduated college 2 years ago still unable to find a job and are stuck being the pizza boy while trying to pay off student loans.. forced to move back home or be homeless... there are not jobs out there in some parts of the country... not even really crappy ones...

I don't think 24 is that old to be living with your parents, especially in this terrible economy. But you would think that your parents would let a girl stay over, you're 24 years old not 16. They have to know that you are probably not a virgin anymore. #32, it depends on where you live. I'm sure I could've lived on my own at the age of 18 if I was living in a place like South Dakota. But I live in one of the San Francisco Bay Area (in California, obviously) and it would be nearly impossible for me to move out and pay for an apartment & college tuition (I'm 20). Luckily, my dad lets me live at home for the time being and pays for me to go to the college nearby. Only one of my friends has her own apartment and her parents still pay for her rent.

Actually man, I feel for you. I lived on my own since I was 18 and after losing my first job out of school I decided to move back in with them. I am 24 and there is nothing wrong with taking in a little extra help when you can't afford to live elsewhere. Just feel fortunate that your parents care for you and are willing to help you out. I feel a lot better knowing that I am saving on that rent and expenses so that when the time comes I can buy my girlfriend the engagement ring she's been wanting since the day we met. Living with your parents is a sensible choice and spending more money doesn't make you more of a man. If this girl knows your situation, she'll understand. Spend the night at her place instead.

Well, the first step is admitting you have a problem....nah, seriously, in these economic times? You're not exactly alone on that one, and honestly, it could be worse. You're only in your mid-twenties, it's not like you're some gross 40 year old living in your mom's basement, and considering your post, I don't think you ever would be.

For me it's different, sure i live at home, [im gonna be 21 in a month] but she's more like a roommate than a mom, i was bringing girls home to smash for over 5 years now.

To all the people asking why she couldn't sleep over because he was living with his parents - I would say she didn't want. I wouldn't. Imagine waking up next morning, going to the bathroom, meeting his dad in underwear... Hmm.. A guy once asked me to come come to him (and his parents) and I refused because of that.
