Today, my boyfriend threw a fit because I "still" live with my mother at age 30. I bought her an apartment in my building and hired a live-in nurse because she is senile and permanently bedridden. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Cut the apron strings
Today, at 30 years-old, I can finally move out. I could have chosen an apartment close to work, but instead I decided to stay close to where my mother lives. Since I told her, she's been complaining that I'm selfish and I'm creating a lot of problems for her by moving so far away. I'll be living half a block from her. FML
Today, I learned that my 29-year-old boyfriend won't stay the night at my house because he lives at home with his parents and doesn't want to have "the discussion" with his mom about me. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me that we wouldn't move in together as we had planned to do for a long time. His mother forbade it. He is 27. FML
Great boyfriend
Today, I'm 37 years-old and recently out of a job. As my boyfriend refuses to pay more than half the rent as long as I live here, I have no choice but to move back in with my mom, 8 hours away. My boyfriend is quite happy to pay the entire rent as soon as I'm gone. FML
May to December
Today, I invited my elderly mother to come stay with my husband and I during this outbreak, just until everything calms down. She declined because we said she couldn’t bring her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is a 34 year-old leech who's been living off her for over a year. She refuses to change her mind. FML
Don't go
Today, my mother told me she thinks it is time for me to move into my own place. I agreed with her and went to look at studios/flats online. She later came into my room, saw me looking at places and then got pissed off at me, saying that I hate her for wanting to leave her. FML
Family dynamics
Today, my mom told me how happy she is that I'm living with her. No wait, that was a month ago. Now she tells me it’s “bad timing” that I'm living with her while she potentially has a new boyfriend, because things like me demanding that people tidy up after themselves might upset him. FML
Today, my mother-in-maw informed us that she sold her house and is moving in with us so we'll "take care" of her in old age. She's in perfect health. We've only been married for 4 months. My wife can't stand her for more than 2 weeks at a time, let alone living with us. FML
Bad sign
Today, my 24 year-old boyfriend said that he wanted to move out of our apartment, but also stay in a relationship. He's moving back in with his parents, over two hours away. FML.
Cuckoo
Today, my mom gave me thirty days notice to find an apartment and move out. Why? She's dating my former best friend and wants to move him in, but he won't do it until I'm gone because it would be "awkward." FML

You're the logical one here OP. And you might want to get him a nurse too. He seems a little senile himself.

Wow, your boyfriend sounds like an asshole. You're a great daughter for taking the best possible care of your mother even if she is senile. Keep doing what you're doing, OP.

Have.... Have you tried explaining it to him?
BlindlyWandering 17
If she is bed ridden and in need of the services of a live in professional care giver then he really shouldn't need it to be explained to him, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. So not only is he an immature jackass, but possibly a complete idiot as well.

Did he know all of this before or after the fit?

Does it really matter? Adults shouldn't just throw fits like that.

You are a good daughter and he should be happy to know you take care of the ones you love. Your boyfriend is the one that needs to grow up.

I can understand it's frustrating to date someone who is compassionate and takes care of their family. He should definitely dump you. Op you should grow up and treat your family like shit so you boyfriend could be the centre of attention.

She should be ashamed of herself to waste money on someone she loves. That apartment should house the boyfriend's ego
BlindlyWandering 17
How dare she divert some of her attention towards her "loved one" who is "in need"? That attention needs to be focused solely on him, where it belongs. How very selfish of her, how does she live with herself?

I am proud that you have stepped up to care for your mother like that. Please, do not let his childish demeanor get you down. If someone has to be that immature when it comes to something like that, they really won't understand or don't care to. I'm hoping it works out for you, what ever direction you decide to choose.

If he is actually loves you, he will understand and stop being a whining ****. You are doing nothing wrong, OP. Keep going! If he does not understand, you are better off without him.

What a selfish prick. God forbid you take care of your mother. Smack him for being a heartless ****.
