Today, the guy I've been seeing for a few months told me he couldn't stay overnight because his mom would yell at him for not coming home. We're both 30 and I didn't know he still lived at home. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I learned that my 29-year-old boyfriend won't stay the night at my house because he lives at home with his parents and doesn't want to have "the discussion" with his mom about me. FML
Today, I found out the guy I've been seeing for 3 months lives at home with his parents. He's 30. They live in a '50+ only' housing complex and he sneaks in the side door. FML
Today, I learned why my boyfriend of 10 months and I never hang out at his place. He still lives at home with his mother. He's 38. FML
Squatters' rights
Today, I found out the person that I’ve been casually seeing has decided he wants to live with me. I found this out when I asked him to go home after two weeks sleeping over, and he told me he'd already moved out of his mom’s. I sublet a single bedroom and have barely enough room for myself. FML
Mommy's bravest boy
Today, my ex broke up with me because his mom didn't like me. He was visiting me across the country at the time, and still had a few days left. He had the audacity to still ask to sleep with me. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me that we wouldn't move in together as we had planned to do for a long time. His mother forbade it. He is 27. FML
It's probably for the best
Today, my boyfriend couldn't go on a date with me because his mom said no. He's 23. FML
Today, my boyfriend threw a fit because I "still" live with my mother at age 30. I bought her an apartment in my building and hired a live-in nurse because she is senile and permanently bedridden. FML
Bad sign
Today, my 24 year-old boyfriend said that he wanted to move out of our apartment, but also stay in a relationship. He's moving back in with his parents, over two hours away. FML.
Today, my boyfriend and I got into trouble with his mother for me still being at their house at 1:00 am. I'm 24, he's 22 and we really were studying. FML

The yelling is an excuse. He actually needs to be tucked into bed with his favorite teddy bear and read a bedtime story by mom.

There's a reason he was single when you met him apparently :p

I think him being worried about being yelled at for staying the night is the problem

there is a chance he works away from home and can't be bothered to rent a place he won't be living in half the time. cheaper to stay with family. or she may be sick and need him at home

Well everyone is single before you start dating them so that logic makes no sense at all.

Am I the only one thinking that his "mom" is his wife. If he doesn't come home, there will be hell to pay!

Fantastic parenting. Note the sarcasm.

Isn't like he can't leave at any given time. Looks like OP has a stage 5 momma cling-on.

Actually, that was super ******* shallow of me. There's so many factors or possibilities... Could be married, mom could be unwell and he cares for her, he or his mom may not be financially able to support themselves alone.

64- you're totally right that there could be a valid reason for him to be living with his mom, but to be worried about getting in trouble for not coming home at age 30? No. That's not normal. Either he's lying/making excuses to OP for one reason or another, which is a pretty big red flag, or he's telling the truth in which case he needs to grow up and stand up to his mother, and she needs to learn to let go. Either way, not the best situation to get involved in...
