Today, I had the rehearsal for two of my friends' wedding. My ex-husband is also in the wedding, and I just found out we have to walk down the aisle together 'for height reasons'. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
With any luck, it'll be canceled
Today, I found out that my friends finally scheduled their wedding. The entire friend group of the groom, which I am part of, is in the wedding. Except me. If I go I’ll have to watch my boyfriend, who is a groomsman, walk down the aisle with one of the bride’s friends on his arm while I sit alone. FML
Today, I ran sound for my ex's wedding rehearsal since I was the only sound tech in town. Her dad was late for the rehearsal, so the pastor had me to walk her down the aisle. FML
Today, I walked from my friend's wedding to my divorce. FML
Today, my brother announced his engagement. I'm going to be the Maid of Honor. My ex, who told me after five years of dating that he didn't believe in marriage, is going to be the Best Man. I get to walk down the aisle with him. FML
Today, my ex husband is marrying my sister. FML
Today, I had to sit through the wedding of my best friend and the love of my life, and pretend to be happy for them. FML
I'm happy for you, but…
Today, my band informed me that our gig this afternoon was actually a wedding. Whose wedding? My ex-wife's, along with the guy she cheated on me with. For their first dance, I had to sing what used to be our song. FML
Today, I found my two best friends making out with each other. Not a big deal, right? Wrong. Today was my wedding day. One of the friends was my maid of honor, the other was my groom. FML
Today, my fiancé's best friend, who will be our best man at our wedding, decided to confess his feelings for me and tell me how he's always dreamed of us eloping together. The wedding is going to be awkward. FML
Today, my younger brother called me saying he's getting married. Now, I have to attend my ex's wedding. I'm the best man. FML

I don't know why people are being so harsh to the op. She's obviously putting up with it and not complaining to her friends because she knows its their day and doesn't want to ruin it. But that doesn't mean it doesn't suck, thats why she's just complaining on here. Yeah, its unfair of her friends to do that. Its not just about a few minutes walking, its also the fact that they are walking down the aisle together, which is bound to bring up shitty memories of their marriage, and like other people said, they will probably have to spend more time than that together. The fact she's complaining at all says that she obviously has enough issues with her ex that its really not going to be a pleasant experience. And yeah, its not her place to complain, and she isn't (to her friends), but they should've been at least a little considerate. I've never understood why people seem to think getting married gives people an excuse to do whatever they want without consideration for others.

Ohhh God, that really is awful, haha. At least it will give you time to make amends? Hahaha!

I do think it was insensitive of your friends to put you in that position, but I think you may be over-reacting a bit. It's only 15 seconds or so, and if you're so unhappy about this, don't do it.

I agree- I think the OP is in a difficult position. Obviously it's bothering her, and it sounds like she even said something to bride, unless the bride just randomly stated that they were lining up by height. It's not like that's impossible, but I'm thinking the bride knows that OP (and probably her ex) are uncomfortable with the situation. And a bride should not ask any of her friends to do something they are uncomfortable with, just to fit her perfect vision. (I'm sure there are exceptions, like if her sister is "uncomfortable" in dresses or something, but you get my point) I got married last summer, and I honestly don't understand what bridezillas are thinking in some cases- yes, I lined my wedding party up by height-though all of the bridesmaids were pretty much the same height, and the men were all different, and much taller than the women, but who cares? It's your wedding day! No one cares if the people standing next to you are all lined up perfectly, if they came to your wedding they came because they want to see you and your fiance start the rest of your lives together, because they care about/love at least one of you. I guess there are also a lot of people who don't care about the institution of marriage anymore, and maybe some of the bridezillas (SOME) are in that camp too and care more about the wedding than the marriage.

I hope people bothered to read these two posts, because you guys (heretonever and spartan_girl) talk a lot of sense.

Well, there is only 1 thing to do! walk TAlleR than he! put aside ur differences and walk tall! he's just someone you shared a past with! Think of Bride and Groom...it is their day. You had yours....besides you can then make yourself available to all other groomsmen! Do 'em! have fun!!!

That's a pretty good idea; wearing monster platform shoes.
