Today, I got my period. 10 minutes into a 3 hour exam. Apparently they are serious when they say you may not leave the room under any circumstances. FML

Today, I had the misfortune of getting my period during another exam. And yes, the male professor also noticed this time. FML
Today, while writing a midterm, my period came unexpectedly. Too bad my male professor was the one to notice and not me. FML
Today, I woke up with bowel problems which have been causing me to violently pass wind every couple of minutes. I have to spend the next two hours sitting an exam in dead silence. FML
Today, I was absolutely busting to poop, so badly that I began to sweat. This was while I was sitting a medical exam, and had to write in depth about the mechanical and chemical process of digestion. FML
Today, I got my period two days early, while being interviewed for my dream job. Let's just say that I don't have very high hopes after walking backwards to the exit door and falling down upon colliding with the wall. FML
Today, I got the hiccups during an exam. I wasn't allowed to leave to get a drink of water, so I had to sit there and take my test while hiccuping violently. The teacher ended up sending me to the hall and ripping up my test for "distracting the other students". FML
Today, I was worried about passing an exam, so I hid a note under my skirt. When the guy next to me was finished, I had to get up so he could leave. With no time to hide the note, I stood in front of the entire class, hand over my crotch, looking as if I had to pee. FML
Today, I had to go through the embarrassment and pain of telling my parents I was pregnant. I took the test and it came out positive and I was freaking out. I got grounded for the rest of the year and they're really disappointed in me. Five minutes ago, I got my period. FML
Today, at school I was sitting with a friend outside, talking about irregular periods and unshaven legs. Ten minutes into the conversation, a teacher sticks her head out the window above us and tells us to leave. We were distracting a classroom who were trying to finish a test. FML
Today, I got my period at school. I didn't notice until a boy asked me if I'd killed someone in my pants. FML

I can usually tel the moment that mine starts. I cramp in specific way and (sorry to be gross) I can feel the moisture of the blood.

Many times you get cramping and it can feel like you wet your pants when it starts. Of course that depends on how heavy it is at the start (varies for me).

Don't know about Australia but here in the states that's illegal.

Here in the states it is not illegal. I took my CNA State exam and under no circumstances were you allowed out during the test otherwise you would give up your test and risk not even getting your nursing license.

yeah, that's only illegal in mandated education (i.e. public school grades K-12). Universities can do whatever they want... and it's not like public schools are know for proper use of the law anyway

That happened to me yesterday. :/ I hope that you didn't get horrible cramps because that happened to me and I couldn't concentrate.
