Same with me- boyfriend told me to try the beta (I was dead-set against paying monthly for a GAME), got instantly hooked. Four years later, my boyfriend and I are still playing WoW together when we can't be together IRL. Turned out to be a great thing for us! ^^

You know, I begged my girlfriend not to bring it into the house when her friends said she should 'try it out'. Three years later she's now my wife and we spent our one year anniversary raiding together. If you still check these comments and are not too far gone into the game. Run. Run to save your life. That's all I have to say.

The problem with WoW isnt that its a horrible game. Its an okay game. The problem is when people take it too far. I used to play, but it just wasn't worth the subscription fee for the amount of fun i was having.

Unless you have an addictive personality, there is no need to worry. I have been playing off and on for over a year, it really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
