Today, I found out that the girl I tutored in high school in basic ENGLISH just received her PhD in Biophysics. I am now the manager of a McDonald's. I was also the Valedictorian of our graduating class. FML

Today, I lost my job to a girl that graduated with the same bachelor's degree from the same college as me. She also got a master's in an unrelated field. I've been working there 7 months, and her master's in maths apparently makes her a better athletic trainer than me. FML
Today, was my graduation from a prestigious university. In two days I start working at a hot dog stand. FML
Today, my former high school bully became my manager. FML
Today, I found out that my friend makes more money than I do. She's a high school dropout and working at a retail job at the mall. I went to college for four years to get my job. FML
Today, my mom was named principal of the school I go to. FML
Today, I found out that a co-worker of mine that I had originally hired, trained, and mentored to work in my department for the past 4 years had just got the promotion that I had applied for. He is now my boss. FML
Today, I found out that my ex-girlfriend got engaged to a coworker. I got her the job. FML
Today, I was at working at Burger King as a cashier. A girl I met last night came in and said, "Aren't you that guy from last night?" Last night, I had told her I was going to medical school and was going to be a doctor in less than a year. FML
Today, I found out my daughter has a higher paid job in the same company I work in. I also found out she is dating my boss. FML
Today, I walked at my graduation ceremony, proudly wearing my valedictorian cords. It turns out that, after some confusion on behalf of the student services office, I was neither valedictorian nor salutatorian (by 0.2 points). I'm dating the actual valedictorian. FML

LOL #1. You do know that Biophysics doesn't have that much of a correlation to English, right? You should get up and DO something about your situation instead at looking at what others are doing.

ok english is my second laguage and i can tell you i know more english than most people i know....im not calling native speakers stupid but c'mon...a great deal of americans do great things in highschool but never survive college...hell the OP might have dropped out of college for all we know. so she deserved it for being a mediocre bitch who thinks a person who is smart enough to learn a WHOLE DIFFERENT LANGUAGE(hell im 16 and i dominate both spanish and english perfectly!) cant get a PhD. and to all the idiots who get into stupid arguments about some comment another idiot posted...get a life.

I'm gonna say YDI, purely because you called English "basic." It's as difficult a subject as any other. I did specialist maths and chemistry, and yet I got my lowest scores in English.

You shouldn't let other's success bring you down especially because at one point in in life you felt superior to that person, and just because she wasn't good at "basic english" doesn't mean she wasn't good in other subjects. (obviously). Honestly, I think your just mad at yourself for working at Mcdonalds. oh and since you seem to thrive on other people's downfall if it makes you feel any better there always someone doing worse that you are.

Okay so she worked hard to get what she wanted. If you graduated first in class, then why are you still working at Mcdonalds ? Honestly your lack of ambition or drive after high school and your current job is your fault, not others. You cannot get mad or angry at their success but let her success be a catalyst for you to change your life around.

not because you taught her english, meant that u were smarter than her. Some people LIKE YOU really got no common sense, i cane to this country 2 YEARS AGO, ONLY 2 YEARS, not knowing any english, i went thru shit when people made fun of me, because of my accent, and THEY THOUGHT they were smarter than me in school. I learned english in less thab year, i got a 94 average in school, and i got my first job over a year ago. WOW FYL. you deff ddnt work hard enough to get where that girl is, im actually very happy for her.
