Today, I summoned the courage to talk to my friends about the money they owe me for my photography services at their wedding. We had agreed on a fair price, but now they're pissed, claiming that I'm being selfish, and should consider it my wedding gift to them. FML

Today, I confronted my friend about the £260 he owes me. He got offended and said, "Friends don't have to pay back." He called me selfish and walked off. FML
Today, we gave my in-laws-to-be our wedding invitations. Their first reaction was to assume we needed money and told us they couldn't help pay for the wedding. Their second move was to book hair and make-up for themselves. Congratulations? FML
Today, while making a grand show of his generosity, my boss gave me my own commissions as a wedding gift. FML
Today, I agreed to help out with my boyfriend's sister's baby shower. They forgot to inform me that "helping" meant splitting the cost of everything. I now owe his family $275. I don't know how to back out without looking cheap. FML
Today, I found out that my fiancé's parents are refusing to pay for a honeymoon, because they "didn't have one, so neither will we", meaning they won't pay for a single thing for our wedding. FML
Today, three days before their rent was due, my fiancé's friends moved out of our basement without saying a word to us. On their way out, they took an envelope from my locked desk with $800 in it that was for our wedding in six months. FML
Today, our wedding venue canceled on us, leaving us 8 months to find another in peak foliage season. My parents contacted the local news over the ordeal, but they're using my name and picture to make me look like a whiny brat who didn’t get her way. FML
Today, my family somehow discovered how much money I make. They didn’t ask for money, or try to be my friend, or try to manipulate me, they just jumped straight to demanding ludicrous amounts of cash for fabricated and imaginary reasons, and already have their own lawyer. FML
Today, I went to dinner with friends for my birthday. During the whole thing they insisted that we get whatever we wanted and celebrate, but when the check came, they all looked at me expectantly. I just bought my friends $150 of food for my birthday present. FML
Today, one of my closest friends informed me that she wasn't going to invite me to her wedding, because I'm too shy and not enough fun, and she doesn't want her 200 or so guests to feel uncomfortable. I was the one who set the happy couple up. FML

Sue them. Or consider it a lesson learned. My sister went through a similar instance. Her friend was going to do the wedding as a gift but then when it came time to get stuff to my sister she was very slow to finish them causing a wedge between her and her friend. I think if your "friends" are being jerks about paying their friend then I'd sue especially since you agreed on a price. Good luck.

Well... did you get them a separate gift? Because if not, you can see why they might have expected this to be the gift, even if you didn't intend it to be. Yes, it's selfish for them to assume you'll give them something, but you generally expect a gift from each guest. If you gave them something, tell them that they need to either pay you for the pictures or give the gift back.

A professional service is just that... a job. If you got them a wedding gift, be adamant about your price, and hold the photos hostage till they pay. If you didn't, reduce it a tiny bit but do remind them that you have bills to pay as well.
