Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I walked outside to see my boyfriend standing on my porch, looking confused. He explained to me that he had attached a prom proposal note to his pet rabbit, and let it inside my house to find me. We went looking for said rabbit, and found my dog halfway through eating it. FML
Today, my dog was barking at a squirrel in the yard. I opened the door to let him chase the squirrel. I went to look at the dead squirrel and found out it was the neighbor's chihuahua. FML
Today, I went to my boyfriend's house to meet his parents, and now they have a dead rabbit because I sat on it. FML
Today, at a big Easter egg hunt, the kids found a wild bunny. Everyone smiled and "aww"ed, until my dog caught and ate it in front everyone. FML
Today, I saw my four-year-old son running around outside, and copying everything our dog was doing. I thought it was cute, so I went to grab the camera. When I went back outside, I saw my dog eating a dead rabbit, and my son doing the same. FML
Today, I found out my dad ate my pet rabbit two years ago. He said he ran away. FML
Today, I came home to find a note on my door from the neighbor saying, "I saw a coyote eat your dog, but was afraid it was rabid." FML
Today, my dog showed me her latest kill. Too bad it was the stuffed animals my dead grandmother had given me as a child that had a lot of sentimental value to me. FML
Today, my cat died. But, before he could bite the dust, he left a goodbye present on my bed: a decapitated baby rabbit. FML
Today, while walking my dog in a cemetery, she stole a stuffed animal off a child's grave and began to play with it. FML

Did they just keep the rabbit loose in their garden? How did your dog get it?

It's entirely your fault for allowing the dog, a natural killer of small animals, to even go to a neighbor's house. You'll be lucky if you haven't traumatized the rabbit's owner and given her a profound hatred or fear of dogs.

Well if you put it that way... perhaps it's entirely the neighbor who is at fault because she let her rabbit, the natural prey of pretty much everything else on the planet, run loose and into the yard where a dog obviously resides. If she really cared about the rabbit, she would have watched it better, yeah?

Just say you don't know anything about it and make sure your dog eats it.

Legally rabbits are considered livestock in most areas...and in a lot of areas its legal to shot animals harassing your livestock. I'd suggest learning to keep your dog properly contained.

That is assuming your dog got in their yard...if the rabbit was running free then it wasn't your fault at all.
