Today, the girl I’ve moved mountains and bent over backwards for chose another man over me. When I asked her why him and not me, she said, “He’s more attractive.” But she sure found me “attractive” when I spent $20k on her for gifts, favors, etc. She put me in the friend-zone, except when I took my wallet out. Today, I realized the only person who’s ever loved me was an old friend. She was an amazing girl, she was there for me at my highs and lows, but I didn’t find her attractive, so I turned her down. She has since then moved on and gotten married, while I’m still getting played left and right by women. FML
Today, my girlfriend decided to let me know that she almost left me for another guy not so long ago, because he was more handsome and talented than me. The reason she didn't leave, "He's out of my league; you're not." FML
Today, at the library, I saw my ex for the first time in two years, about 100lbs lighter and super hot. She’s engaged now. I asked her why she couldn’t do that for me when we were together. She replied, “Because my man loved me at my worst, unlike you. So he deserves me at my best. Have a nice day.” and walked away. FML
Today, the man I love chose yet another woman over me. For months and months on end I’ve been trying to make him see that I would make a great girlfriend and life companion, yet he dismisses me and chooses other people. What do they have that I don’t? What do I have to do to be good enough? FML
Today, I caught my girlfriend cheating on me. I go on Instagram to find that the girl I rejected for her just announced her engagement. This girl literally moved mountains for me for years and my selfish ass didn’t wanna go out with her, all because my girlfriend was hotter. I’m a dumbass. FML
Today, I asked my best friend, who I love, what his new girlfriend has that I don’t. I've gone the extra mile, did favors, been there at his highest and lowest for about a year and a half, yet he rejected me and chose a girl who he’s merely known 5 months. Apparently a slim waist and perky boobs/butt matters more. FML
Today, I saw the woman I asked out last month in a relationship with another guy. She rejected me because she “wanted to focus on herself.” I texted her and asked why she had lied to me. She responded with, “Okay, you caught me. But can you blame me? I’m not attracted to butt ugly Martian-looking men.” FML
Today, I bought a guy I’ve liked for months a Christmas present and expressed how much he meant to me. He said, “Lol, thanks.” He then went on a date with another girl. Apparently, being loving and caring towards guys gets you used and rejected. My lover girl era is now over. FML
Today, one of my best friends, someone I considered family, and whose kid I see as my nephew, picked a piece of shit dude she’s been seeing for 3 months over me. And no, I didn’t make her choose. He decided to be an ass to me and when I wasn’t OK with it, she just let him. FML
Today, my long-distance boyfriend of 2 years left me for another girl he’s known for 3 months, just because she’s closer. Never mind that I was the one who remained faithful to him for 2 long years, got him through the deaths of his parents, gave him money when he fell on hard times, among other things. FML

Both of you ****** up. You ****** up for spending so much money into a girl who wasn’t your girlfriend. If she “friend zoned” you, that should have been the end of it. No more financial support. You can’t buy someone’s love. And she ****** up too, by even accepting the money in the first place knowing she didn’t reciprocate your feelings. I personally wouldn’t let a guy I am not dating spend money on me unless it was my birthday or something and they were treating me as a kind gesture. Unfortunately, some girls like to take advantage of guys like that. They love the validation. But you, my friend… take this as an extremely tough lesson learned.

I'm sorry that happened, hopefully you both learned something from this, mainly don't put in so much money into someone you aren't dating, and then put it in their face as if that is going to make her want you more suddenly, and it's also shitty she used you like that, but you should have spoke up before you put that much money into someone who obviously doesn't care about you enough to have made it official over that time period (unless you dropped $20k in the first week of talking to her, sounds like a lot of time wasted being in the friend zone instead of actually asking her where that was going)

If you spent under something like $100 on her for the occasional gift/favor, I'd feel sympathy for you, but $20k? Yeah, it was shitty for her to take advantage of you like that, but I can't say I feel bad for you at the same time if you spent that much on a girl you're not even dating. Maybe for the next girl, make your intentions/feelings upfront and clear before you spend that much on her.
