Today, both my car and my father's car were broken into. They stole my radio, purse, wallet, camera, and multiple items of clothing. What did they take from my dad's car? Some screwdrivers to help rip my radio out of my dashboard. FML

Today, my car was broken into. They broke the passenger side window and took my radio system. But they didn't take the remote for it. FML

Today, I was pointing out my car to my roommate. He responded with, "Oh that one with the broken window?" Turns out my car had been broken into. They took my CD player, GPS and Ipod. On top of that they left a Reese's Fastbreak wrapper and sunflower seeds on my front seat. FML
Today, I went to my car to get a few things, when I discovered it had been broken into. Nothing of value was taken. My window was busted in just for a pack of cigarettes, a lighter, and my car's ashtray. FML
Today, I was volunteering at a soup kitchen and was advised to leave my wallet and cell phone in my car so they wouldn’t be stolen. Someone broke into my car and stole them. FML
Today, I found my car had been robbed. The thieves stole my GPS, my iPod and my digital camera. While I was filing the police report, the officer recommended I take photos for insurance purposes. Then she remembered my camera had been stolen. She actually started laughing. FML
Today, while I was at work, a co-worker watched while some kid stole the radio out of my car. FML
Today, I was playfully walking back to my car with my girlfriend. My door was unlocked. I then noticed my car had stuff scattered inside. A bum had just robbed and ransacked my car. FML
Today, my car got broken into. A small folded plastic bag and a few toothpicks I got from a restaurant were stolen. It's going to cost me a few hundred bucks to fix and clean my car over a 10 cent bag and a few free toothpicks. FML

Well to be fair to op, haven't you left your purse with your wallet, and your radio in the car? The rest I'm sure most people have left the rest of things in their car.... Then again I've never owned a car so I might be wrong :)

Most people would never consider leaving their wallet in their car. I know that at my local mall, they have signs posted everywhere telling you to take your valuables with you.

I'd never leave my bag with all my things in and in my boyfriends old car we used to take the radio out and I'd have it in my bag because it was expensive. You should never leave valuables in your car!

Most aftermarket stereo systems you buy at stores come with a button to take off the front face of the radio so it basically becomes useless until you put it back on. It's still unwise to leave your purse/wallet/camera in your car, even in a low-crime area. You never know...

Hey retard in Canada shit gets taken all the time! People going down streets breaking car windows etc. I don't lock my door at home if I am in it and awake but you always lock your door before you leave or go to bed common sense no matter where you live. Safe not sorry.

Here in Miami, you have to always have to take your purse just in case. My sister went to Jacksonville to visit a friend, and they didn't even lock their doors, and they left everything in their car. Maybe OP lives in a place like that, but bad luck hit. I think it's still pretty dumb to leave valuables in a car, but that's because of where I was brought up

Car alarms are pretty pointless anymore. Most newer cars have them (not my 97 Jeep), so when one goes off not many people think "Hey I wonder if that's mine!" In my last apartment complex, a car alarm started going off around 3:30am...it continued to go off until 7am, when the owner of the car was finally leaving for the day.

"pointless anymore.." sounds odd, but depends on the alarm, mine after door or something has been opened it will text/email or call me to let me know alarm has been tripped. I still don't leave anything important in there though.
