Today, while teaching English in Korea, my boss gave me a birthday present from her and all of my co-workers. It was a really fancy box. It had very nice wrapping. It had a pretty bow. It was kind of heavy. It was 6 bottles of dandruff shampoo. FML

Hmmm. Next time you get a chance, sprinkle some fake snow into their lunch and onto your shoulder and meander around the break room. I'd pay to see the reaction.

because they tried to have dandruff. totally. idiot

Wow all the way from Korea! Me too. And I say thin skin for the poster. I am guessing this person has not been in Korea long. These kind of gifts are normal to get around major holidays. They just pick up a bunch of gifts boxes and give them out. I bet they put any thought into it. My friend had it worse he is vegetarian and it is hard to not eat meat in korea and guess what he gets for Chusok (aka Korean thanksgiving) a big box full of spam (I think about 20 cans). His boss just did not listen. So the shampoo I do not think was a slight just ignorance.

hey im from korea. but i think that was mean...

Yeah, in Korea, that wouldn't be too bad. Most are really into beauty and hygiene. That's not so bad honestly. Now if none of them have seen you naked and they give you herpes medicine, well that's bad.

what's wrong with shampoo? korean shampoo is generally the good stuff and whenever my church does gift bag things, it's always something practical..such as the paper towels and soap and toothpaste and shampoo. i love getting shampoo whenever they do this kind of thing because i'm getting quality stuff and i don't have to go out and buy some myself... and 6 bottles? you hit the jackpot, dude:P

#27 not true at all, fyi some impoverished koreans do eat dogs, but it's not their main dish ;) just putting that out there.

maybe they're trying to, somewhat subtly, tell you something... ?

So, are you saying FML because you think it's a crappy, rude gift? Or because you just found out you have dandruff? =P
