Today, my train departed over 10 minutes early. It was the last train of the day. I missed my transatlantic flight and along with it the vacation and concert I'd spent over a year saving for. FML

Today, I was starting a new job and I didn't want to be late, so I took a train that left earlier than normal, just to make sure I'd be on time. Turns out, the earlier train wasn't an express train, and made it to my stop 12 minutes after my usual one did. I was late for work. FML

Today, I got on a two hour train ride to go to a concert. I had been so caught up in handling the train tickets that halfway to the concert, I realized I had left the concert tickets on my dresser. FML

Today, I had to take the train from my hometown to my university for a very important meeting concerning my foreign exchange program. When I finally arrived, I noticed a Post-it on the door: "Meeting cancelled, sick". I basically made a 9-hour day-trip for a half-an-hour walk. FML

No taxis, or other methods of transport? I seriously think you should've had a back up since we all know how unreliable buses can be sometimes... Really sorry OP.

I'm sorry but...a Non refundable trans Atlantic flight, concert, and a vacation you've been saving for for over a year? Why The F weren't you there earlier!? If it meant that much to you you'd be there way earlier so as to avoid being late. ALWAYS show up an hour to three hours early for any major travel events. Yes you'll wait around most likely but it's worth not losing hundreds of dollars over a 10 min train.

I disagree. I live in the middle of nowhere and that is a motivator to arrive extra early. In the city if someone misses a train or cab they can get the next one. I can't. You bet your butt I'm getting there early to guarantee I am on that train. It 100% was the OP's fault.
