Today, I was working at the pharmacy and had a older man come in. He was buying Viagra and, by law, we are required to ask if the patient had any questions. His lovely response was, "When you coming over so I can test this stuff out?" His wife and daughter thought it was hilarious. I could've died. FML

I don't find that very funny. Even if he wasn't being serious, some jokes are alright, and some aren't, and the audience and setting is important. You were being professional an following procedure, and he took advantage of it and basically said "I want to have sex with you." If I was his wife or daughter, I wouldn't laugh, I'd be mortified, talking to a stranger and employee like that and making them feel uncomfortable. That's inappropriate, and older people shouldn't get a pass on that stuff just because they're old, they're adults too, and unless they have a condition, they should know better. Sexual harassment isn't ok.

FYL, I once had an older woman in early 90's come into the clothing store where I work and ask for thigh high boots, a teddy (lingerie), and a thong. She was with her grand daughter too and I thought she was kidding... She wasn't and even said that old ladies get some too! I applauded her LOL

I am done with the ignorant replies on this comment that I keep getting notifications for by people who have no idea what appropriate behaviour is. So let's look at definitions why don't we. Sexual harassment, definition: harassment in a workplace, OR OTHER professional or social situation, involving the making of unwanted sexual advances or obscene remarks. This old man did BOTH of these, 1)unwanted sexual advances, joke or not they are still sexual advances and he did it in a way where the OP did not immediately know he was joking, and 2)obscene remarks. That is not "too loose," on the definition, that is literally the EXACT definition. You DO NOT make obscene sexual advances towards strangers like this, period, joke or not, especially when they're working. If you are a customer, YES, you are to remain polite and professional towards the employees, because even as a customer, you are still required to act a certain way, you are not allowed to act however you want. If you think making sexual remarks towards strangers, regardless of intent, is appropriate behaviour, you need to get some ******* education and grow up because you clearly didn't make it passed the maturity of a 12yr old. I make sexual jokes all the time, but here's the thing, I KNOW MY AUDIENCE. I make them towards my, friends, boyfriend, and family, these people know me, they know my intentions and understand I'm not serious. A stranger doesn't know any of that, they have every right to be upset by what I say because we don't have this understanding or bond. There's a time and a place for these jokes, towards strangers, especially at their place of work, IS NOT one of them.
