Would have been worse if you didn't work in a fish store.. I understand it hurts that those were his last words, but better not worry too much about it and try to remember the good times

So all you idiots never for a second looked at it from the grandfather's side. The man is dying and he knows that what he says will be the last words and no turning back. OP you're the special idiot. It didn't occur to you that it was really hard for your grandfather to say goodbye and that he loved you so much, he died joking around with you till the last second.
