Today, my dad decided to clean out my car and "accidentally" threw away my $520 tax refund check. FML

If he kept it I doubt he'd be able to cash it if it has your name on it. If he really did "accidentally" throw it away I'd be "accidentally" making his ass dig through the trash and find it.

Just contact the government and have them cancel that check and send you a new one

You're obviously old enough to drive and to work, so why the **** do you need/let your Dad clean your car??? Grow a pair.

OP if your dad is anything like my friend's dad, FYL. I can totally see her dad doing this. He randomly decided to clean out her car. She didn't have any idea until she got in the car... Meanwhile, I don't know about most people but my dad did my taxes, waited until the weekend before they were due, set up the direct deposit, didn't remember I'd gotten a new account, even though it was my parents idea, so I had to wait to get the tax refund. I hadn't had it for months, sitting around. I only deposited it a few weeks ago. So its not surprising if the OP hasn't had the check that long.

#92 is right, I've done it before.

In return, you should just accidentally clean out his wallet :)
