10 years? And you're still his girlfriend? I think that may be the reason she referred to you as his friend. He either sucks at commitment or this is a very open relationship. Still a mean thing to do, of course.

i know how that is! my ex of six years....his parents call me his friend and it was strange cause we were calling each other babe and etc. it sucks... and im sorry your going through that. hope it gets better

Why dont you just say something to his mom because calling you his friend after ten years she may think thats all its ever gonna be but by telling her upfront about it she may respect you but she could also hate you in the end. I would tell her how you feel about it.
