10 years? And you're still his girlfriend? I think that may be the reason she referred to you as his friend. He either sucks at commitment or this is a very open relationship. Still a mean thing to do, of course.

Wow, lots of projecting here! Sounds like many of you find marriage a necessary goal in life. Not everyone feels that way. There's nothing in OP's post that indicates that she's disappointed about her relationship, you all projected that.
